[00:00:00] Speaker A: Wvuafm, Tuscaloosa.
[00:00:15] Speaker B: What's going on, everybody? It is Student section, College Football edition. In here today we have me, Devin, my buddy Josh. How's it going, man?
[00:00:25] Speaker A: Dude, thank God once again. It's a Friday, but it's been a minute since we had a show, man. Yeah, it's been about three weeks and, you know, we've had our ups and downs and so. But we're back at it again, man. We're back at it again. How you been doing, man?
[00:00:38] Speaker B: Been all right, man. It's just been trying to get through the rest of the semester, man.
[00:00:42] Speaker A: I agree, I agree. We're getting close. We're getting pretty close. We only got a couple of weeks left and we'll be finished up. But also we are out with our. We are not here with our boy Graham, who is currently right now still a little bit sick. He has gotten better. I did see him at class yesterday, so thankfully he is starting to get a little bit better. But we're still praying for him to hopefully recover fully and. And to be able to be with us again so that we can have this amazing Three Stooges back in the studio. But, you know, three weeks have gone by and a lot has happened from those three weeks and I think we have a lot to talk about. But for Alabama wise, you know, it's been three weeks, they played two ranked opponents.
I think we have at least talk about both of them in a respectable amount of way so that we can really talk about, you know, what's going to be coming up. Because I think today, in my opinion, we should talk about a little bit of the college football playoffs.
[00:01:38] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
[00:01:39] Speaker A: And just seeing the route that Alabama could take and see what other teams could take to hopefully get a spot in one of those 12 team spots.
[00:01:49] Speaker B: All right, so get that started. We're going to start with the last game, Alabama, lsu, and an unexpected, unexpected finish that finished in Alabama. Absolutely total obliteration. How'd you feel about that, Josh?
[00:02:03] Speaker A: Listen, man, I was offered tickets to go to that game. I'm so thankful I did not go to that game. Really?
[00:02:12] Speaker B: You didn't go?
[00:02:12] Speaker A: No, I didn't go. I'm glad I didn't go. It was for my team wise. We look like Tiger crap. We look like manure. We played like manure and we play like how I used to play in middle school. Oh, man, like crap. We never won a game. I mean, it was. It was not impressive at all. I think Alabama played, though, from this perspective. They wanted the Win much more than LSU did.
[00:02:39] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[00:02:40] Speaker A: And I, I have to go and respect them for that. You know, it was, it was a very good team effort for Alabama. You know, they were really good leaders.
But for all around though, I think how this team played out, you know, it was impressive. It was good. They wanted to win more. They had a completely balanced team all around. Milro rushing the ball like he did against LSU last year and he played amazing football. But all around, you know, lsu, I mean, they just try using that Saturday night Death Valley type of vibe and they didn't do anything with it. But I mean, it was, it was pathetic.
[00:03:18] Speaker B: Yeah. That was Brian Kelly's first LSU loss under the Saturday nights in Death Valley. I mean, I went to, I didn't go to the game, but I did have the honor of going to Baton Rouge. Shout out to my dogs in 108. That invited me, man, Baton Rouge, forget the game. Baton Rouge has a special place in my heart. I really love that city, man. Just. Wow. I didn't know tailgating there, man. I hate to say it, but I think they do it better than Bama.
[00:03:42] Speaker A: I'll say though that Bama has a more beautiful campus. Oh yeah, I know LSU still is renovating whether like the roads with their campus all around.
[00:03:50] Speaker B: They're still building that library down there.
[00:03:52] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. It's never getting fixed, man. That poor library, man. It hasn't been touched since like the 60s or 70s, man. It will never get hurt or never get renovated, but all around for a tailgating experience. And I think in my opinion, for a sports facility wise, LSU does beat Bama. But. Oh yeah, I love Alabama's campus. But lsu, when it comes to tail game, you'll never find anything like that in the country.
[00:04:17] Speaker B: I had a blast at lsu, man, oh man.
[00:04:19] Speaker A: Well, you're gonna enjoy the food. The food is the.
[00:04:22] Speaker B: Oh, man, Cajun best food.
[00:04:24] Speaker A: Man. You love southern, you're location. I mean, that's just how it is. I, it's like how much I love food. Cyclist, please. Monster. I mean, it's good food. I mean like jambalaya, you got gumbo, you got Boyles, you got. I mean, you got probably grilled gator out there. Hey, they may grill up an elephant. I'm not saying they will. They will, but that's how crazy the Cajuns are. They will find a way to find some way to cook up some crazy meat and make it really taste good. I mean, that's what I'm saying with Alabama, lsu, this game going into it Even with college game day, I mean, it was special. And the outcome of the game was not special for the people of Louisiana they haven't seen since Hurricane Katrina came around. But, I mean, it was sad.
[00:05:05] Speaker B: Yeah, my friend, he had to actually went to the game. He told me Death Valley gets its name.
You know, it was very, very loud in the stadium for the first five minutes.
[00:05:15] Speaker A: Oh, gosh. Oh, yeah, for the first five minutes.
Have you watched it live on tv? I mean, the first five minutes before even the game started, it looked like, oh, this was going to be a classic.
[00:05:27] Speaker B: Oh, man, I felt the intensity. I was on like five miles away from stadium and I just still felt it.
[00:05:31] Speaker A: And I thought LSU was going to win the game.
[00:05:33] Speaker B: Really?
[00:05:33] Speaker A: I really did. Oh, yeah. I thought the.
If I thought how lsu, not lsu, but sorry, but how Jalen Milroy and Alabama played against Tennessee, I'm like, if you are that rattled by Knoxville, how are you going to feel going to Baton Rouge? And that did not matter at all because one thing we saw was if Jalen Melrose starts off very well, he will have a really good game. If he doesn't, you know what's going to happen. He's not going to have a very good game at all. He had a really bad start against Tennessee, but he had a really good start against lsu. And that was the determining factor for how the rest of the game went. Because of how Jalen Milroe, how he played the rest of the game, just from one series, it defined the entire game. LSU couldn't do anything on offense. They were making a lot of sloppy plays. The defense, they have no idea what the idea of a QB spy is. They. If you have legs and you can run a. You can run with a football and you're a quarterback, you probably will put up about 200 yards rushing against LSU and you will probably. They will have no idea how to stop you. And that's just how it is. They could not find a way to stop Milro at all.
[00:06:44] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Milroy was running like a wing quarterback from the 1930s and had four touchdowns. 185. Not rushing. I mean, not passing, but rushing yards. He had more rushing yards than passing yards, which is in today's game. It's amazing to see it. Unless you go to, like the Navy or Army. But, man, I mean, that game. Now I will say I know the LSU defense did not look great, but you do know who did look great? Wit Weeks. Man, he is a dog. He was the diamond in the rough. That game.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: You're Right. I think LSU has just two good players on the defense. But even with that, even with that, you have been preparing for two weeks. Two weeks for a quarterback who you knew was not going to probably be taken out of the game because A and M situation was. They're preparing for their passing, their passing quarterback, which is Wigman, and then they switched out with Marcel Reed. I was like, okay, you weren't expecting that because the QB situation is a little bit iffy. You know, Milro will probably not get taken out of the game no matter how bad he plays. Because Alabama, we have seen, they are sticking with Milroe.
[00:07:51] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:07:52] Speaker A: And you have two weeks to prepare for a running quarterback after you just went up against one. So you have the idea of it and you let up, you give up four touchdowns on the ground by him over 200 yards rushing. I think that is absolutely pathetic as an LSU defense, which I thought was going to have a really good game by putting the pressure on and having a way to contain him. Yeah, we never saw any of that. And give credit to Bama and their offense because they prepared it perfectly. They knew, okay, they're going to think we're going to be on the run. So we'll, we'll, we'll. We'll go on the run still and they'll still have no way of stopping it. And that's what's pathetic about lsu, how they played last Saturday because of all this time to prepare, even throwing junk on the field because of an actual legitimate face mask.
[00:08:45] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: Because that's just drunk occasion fans. That's what we do. But I mean, I mean, that's still pathetic. Defense by lsu, amazing. Offense by Alabama and on their offense and their defense. Defense was amazing. I mean, they got a lot of pressure on Nussmeyer. They could not even. They couldn't get anything done on the run. Alabama wanted to win that game. LSU looked so incredibly soft.
It's just, it's just sad.
[00:09:12] Speaker B: Yeah. That was not what I was.
[00:09:14] Speaker A: Not for LSU fans, not for Alabama fans. Alabama fans had the time of their lives.
[00:09:18] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. That was at the end of the game. Stadium was empty. You can see it on tv. It's like, wow.
[00:09:25] Speaker A: And all those recruits, man. Oh, my gosh.
[00:09:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Not a great day to be a Tiger fan. But I mean, Alabama, LSU wasn't the only game that was on last week. Last week had a pretty great slate.
The next game, Georgia and Ole Miss. Ole Miss completes the upset 28:10. Your thoughts on that, Josh?
[00:09:46] Speaker A: I know my mom was happy. I Did tell her that after our team be Ole Miss, like, hey, you stop George on your list, you can still beat them. And did they beat them? Oh, gosh, they beat them. I mean, this is one of the big things about Georgia that we all had to understand completely. It was the fact that Carson Beck is the only kind of reason of. If he. If he plays really badly, you're not winning this game at all.
[00:10:14] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:10:14] Speaker A: They also needed Trevor et in desperately in that game. But Ole Miss defensively was incredible. I thought after, you know, Dart came out of the game and then. What's his name?
[00:10:28] Speaker B: I don't know what his name was.
[00:10:29] Speaker A: It's Maddox. But when he came into the game and he started actually dotting up George's defense, I was like, well, I'd be dang. Maybe Link Given is a QB coach after all. But I mean it still a lot of respect out to Ole Miss. You know, that was. That was the main game to bring them back into contention for the playoffs. LSU is. He's got less than 5% on making the playoffs, but Ole Miss just with that win, you can now see that, hey, this is a team that is all around balanced and they know that they, if they win out, they have a very good chance of making the playoffs. And they want to make the playoffs because all the millions of dollars is spent to get this team. And I mean, I like the team. I do. Oh, absolutely. What do you think of the game?
[00:11:13] Speaker B: Oh, man, this was another unexpected. I thought this was going to go more down to the wire, but you know, man, I got to. You got to give it to Ole Miss. They played a great game against a great Georgia team.
[00:11:24] Speaker A: In the rain as well.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: Oh, in the rain.
[00:11:27] Speaker A: And Dart was out for the second series with an ankle injury when we thought that he was maybe not even come back in. Yeah, but I mean, when he threw that pick, I was like, oh, darn, what are you doing? But then I understood He. He was limping on that leg. That's why he threw the pig. And I understood. But I mean, I thought, oh, boy, this is. It's gonna be a re. It's gonna be pretty much a. A replay of what happened last year where George just beat the crap out of him. Yeah, but I mean, like you said, I mean, I was, I. I thought how Ole Miss play. They dominated. Oh, yeah. On all aspects. I mean, they just made it great.
[00:12:03] Speaker B: On defense, they.
[00:12:05] Speaker A: They got. I mean, with Georgia being their main. The. One of the biggest parts being their offensive line, Ole Miss's defensive line Had a field day. The Florida transfer, I'm not going to try to pronounce his name, but he's from the defensive end. Princely, you. That's all I'm going to say. Had an amazing game. He just destroyed that left tackle. Jared Ivey played well. Walter Noen played well. Pigas was. He got. He got out.
He got rushing. He got rushing first down, but he got out with the game for a little bit. But still all around, their defense and their corners played an amazing game all around.
[00:12:41] Speaker B: Yeah. My friends that go to Ole Miss, man, they were happy. They were, man, they had photos of them.
[00:12:46] Speaker A: How many friends have. During the sec, man, golly, I don't.
[00:12:50] Speaker B: Look, my dad's in the Navy. I've had the pleasure of moving around, so that's fair.
[00:12:54] Speaker A: Yeah, but, man, like, one day, like, if Alabama plays, it's like, North Dakota, you're like, yeah, all my buddies from North Dakota, man. You know what I'm saying? They're pretty hyped up. The fact they beat Bama by three points. Yeah, you won't have a conversation like that eventually. But.
[00:13:07] Speaker B: But yeah, they had photos of them rushing the field. Video them rushing the field 16 seconds early. Yeah, I know.
And one of them, he was on. One of my friends, he was posted with, you know, posing. And you can see the goal post getting taken out through the student section.
[00:13:24] Speaker A: That's amazing. They got, like, facility workers to prepare to take down the goalposts. If you didn't see that. No, I didn't see on tv. They're like, okay, we're not gonna have these. Ran a bunch of economic majors trying to take down this goalpost. We're gonna do it ourselves so that it won't get ruined. They literally were, unlike, unbuckling and unalien the thing so that it would make it easier for the students because they.
[00:13:48] Speaker B: Already take it down anyway.
[00:13:50] Speaker A: And I like it because it's actually smart. But they're like, they. We already know you're gonna take it to the lake. Just. Just take it up.
[00:13:56] Speaker B: I don't even know no lakes near. This probably is like a lake near Oxford. I can't think of one.
[00:14:00] Speaker A: It's a. It's a water fountain.
[00:14:02] Speaker B: Water.
[00:14:04] Speaker A: But for the most part, I think the slate of games from last week were all really good.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:14:10] Speaker A: But I think when we come back from the break here in a second, I think because we had. We didn't get the chance to talk about with last week. I think we need to talk about the College Football Playoff from The first show and the second show that just happened. Oh yeah, absolutely. I think we need to talk about that right after the break here.
[00:14:25] Speaker B: Oh yes, sir.
[00:14:39] Speaker A: This show is a Sports production of WVU AFM 90.7 the Capstone, a division of student media at the University of Alabama. Support us by leaving a review rating or following us on X at WVUAFM Sports.
We are back at it again. It's your boys Devin and Josh here and after talking about how much else you sucked at playing against Alabama, there is one thing we do need to talk about which is the brand new college football playoffs, which is the 12 team playoffs and how it's going to pretty much go. We've already seen the first one which will happen on election week. Now this one is updated with a whole bunch of, you know, upsets and losses. But before we talk about the playoffs, Devin, I think it's time for our favorite segment called what the crap is a Miami Hurricane?
Let's talk about the Hurricane. Oh yeah, let's talk about how good Mario Crystal Ball is and how much they're getting carried by my boy Cameron Moore to the future New York Giant.
So if you don't know, and I'm surprised if you are a college football fan and you didn't see this, Miami got upset at Georgia Tech 28 to 23.
Haynes King was a little bit injured throughout the game, but still Mario Crystal Ball is still being treated as a preschooler to Georgia Tech. This is his second loss in a row to Georgia Tech. He lost last year, didn't he? Because he can't understand. Oh yeah, I wish we had that show last year for that game because I would have said every bad thing underneath the sun about Mario Crucible and how bad of a court, how bad of a head coach he is and how he should probably go back to being with Nick Saban. But let's talk about the kind of stat wise. Of course Georgia Tech won 28, 23 against Miami, who was undefeated. Cameron Ward had a really solid game all around, 25 for 39 for 348 yards passing through three touchdowns.
But the thing about it was the real reason why Georgia Tech won, I mean it was Haynes King on the ground. He had 20 carries for 93 yards and one touchdown. That might not seem like a lot, but this is a guy who committed to Texas A and M, who's a Texas quarterback and he's not very well known as a running quarterback. He is a little bit, but not as much as 20 carries. 20 carries is about as Much as Jalen Milroy did against lsu. This guy also was injured during the, during the part of the game he was injured. He had to get his backup to come in his backup play. All right, but I mean still this was apparently Haynes King is the reason why this offense will thrive and once again and grass is green on this side of the world.
Mario Crystal ball can't figure out why he's a good head coach and why he can't use the talent. All this millions of dollars of talent that he has to thrive.
[00:18:00] Speaker B: Devin, what do you think of it, man? Miami, I've been saying it before lately. Winning these close games against bailed out by the refs half the time. I said look, the luck's going to run out soon and very soon. And what do you know? Georgia Tech, the last year's game, we all know how that ended. Just nail the ball and now you even further the statement that you deserve the loss. Lose that game this year.
I guess Cristobal's weakness is yellow jackets apparently because I just. When you have Cam Ward, you've got a solid defense. Not the best, but you know, it gets the job done.
And to lose the Georgia Tech like that, Georgia Tech, I mean we went way back to week zero when they beat fsu. We thought that was impressive. Now this win against Miami, this is impressive. Georgia Tech saying, hey, I guess we own Florida.
[00:18:52] Speaker A: Well, let's say the least if well actually shouldn't be said. Georgia Tech owns the state of Florida. Confirmed. Because they've beaten Florida State. They beat Miami. Miami beat Florida. So they also own Florida. I think if they had a matchup against each other, we probably beat them as well.
Georgia Tech is a good team. They are now bull eligible. They are. There are six and four. Yeah, well that's not really much of a surprise but they are 64. I mean they own the state of Florida. They, they, they, they run through the Horner Jackets of the world. What I just say, I might be stupid, but it's okay. But still Miami sucks. And the world is okay. Everybody's happy, happy. Joy, joy. But it's okay because cam wars give me a New York Giant. Anyways, outside of that game, there's a couple of more I thought we can at least a little bit talk a little bit about, you know. Of course Florida is Florida. I'm not gonna say much about Florida because we have play against my team. But they got the crowd beaten down by Texas. Ohio State clean up business. Colorado defeated Texas Tech. Of course Tennessee, of course Notre Dame being at Florida State grass is green, nothing new there. And of course we had an upset as well. I mean these were two close games towards the bottom. BYU against Utah, which was the Battle of the Mormons. Holy war. It was the Holy War.
[00:20:20] Speaker B: That's what it's called.
[00:20:21] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. They only won by one point. They came back and won the game. Pretty impressive enough. Virginia pulled off the upset against Pitt. It was a pretty close game all around. But those were two big play, two big games all around. But you know, that was one of the bigger slay of games, you can say. I'd say the last other two weeks were pretty good. But. But you know, all around this week was a lot of fun to watch. I mean, all around. Devin, what do you think about all.
[00:20:49] Speaker B: Around that BYU Utah game? Man, that controversial ending, man, you gotta love. This is what robberies are made of right here. And this is a conference game now. You gotta love it, man.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: Man. I will say though, I think one thing since we, you know, it's not too much to talk about outside of, you know, what happened, what happened last week. There is something that we could talk about that we'd love to do here on the show and that is not just only roasting Auburn. No, no, no. Let's. Let's talk just a little bit about Florida State. Oh, this is, this is about to get fun.
[00:21:21] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[00:21:22] Speaker A: So currently right now Florida State is 1 and 9. Apparently they just lost their sixth commitment which was a four star quarterback who's probably going to flip to Florida in a couple of weeks. When early signing day comes around this team, they are. They also fire both their offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator and with that of course you lose a bunch of commits.
Mike Norvell is trying to figure out which vitamins to take to help him try to cope with this. And to be fairly honest with you, Mike, you might need the Lord above for this one, man. But I mean all around it's the greatest fall off I've ever seen for a team, a playoff caliber team, not.
[00:22:07] Speaker B: Even a playoff championship contender is what they were saying last number 10 ranked.
[00:22:11] Speaker A: All the way to. You're in the pits with Kennesaw State. You have only. You have one win like Kennesaw State. Heck, Kennesaw State just put their head coaching job opportunity on Indeed.com and I. You can look it up if you want to, but still the fall off is incredible. I mean not even.
I know they didn't make a championship game. I know they didn't make the playoffs. But still you go undefeated you, you get all this talent. You paid a lot of money to get DJ Ugu. I'm not going to say his last name. It's tough to say. But you get all this money, you get all these players and you're at 1 and 9. You got your backup, backup quarterback in the game. And I mean it would be, I mean, do you think Mike Norville is going to get fired after the season? I mean, let me tell you this, he is owed a lot of money. The payout, like the payout to get him out of that job is a lot of money. A lot of guap is a lot of money. Do you think they'll pull the trigger on it?
[00:23:12] Speaker B: No, I don't think so. Too much money, too much at stake. And look, it's only one bad year. If you're the ad, you got to give them the benefit of the doubt. Everyone left. They had a, they did have a squad.
20 with a 20, 23. 20, 23. They did have a squad. But you know, now, I mean, their excuses, everyone's gone. And as we can see, they have nobody right now. So I feel like if you're going to do anything, it'll be midseason next year when you've got nothing to win. That's when I'd pull the trigger. That's just me. So I don't think they will. If they were smart, they'd kind of give them the benefit of the doubt. But once you see midseason next year, it's like, okay, let's pull the plug. Let's put a. Get an interim in here, see what he can do, then go on in 20, 26.
[00:23:53] Speaker A: Well, say the least right now Deon Deion Sanders is not coming back to his alumni. He's about to.
[00:23:58] Speaker B: You don't think so?
[00:23:59] Speaker A: He's about to flip juju juju Lewis from USC in a couple of weeks. I, I put money on it. He's. Even though he's about to lose his three best players he's ever had, he's about to reload. Oh yeah, and I, I think he'll stay at Colorado. But Florida State is a poverty franchise once again. The world is a happy place now. It's all good. But all around though, I mean, it's just, it's pretty pathetic. I do agree with you. I don't think they will fire him. I don't think they're going to have that big of a payout. He's going to probably say, look, it's on me. It's all good. We're going to get some new coordinators. We'll get our new qb probably because apparently you see that the, the Boston College quarterback here, the transfer portal. Really? Yeah, he did cast a lot. Yeah. He exits after losing his starting job at Boston College.
[00:24:52] Speaker B: He lost his job? Whoa. I did not hear about this.
[00:24:55] Speaker A: Apparently some people around Florida State do believe that he might be coming to them.
[00:25:01] Speaker B: That'd be interesting.
[00:25:02] Speaker A: We will see if it does happen or not. But with that being said, you know, if that's your best option. Mike Norville prepares are putting the fries in the bag, buddy, because I better see you at food sack. Put my, my chicken tendies, my food sauce and my fries and toast in the bag because you're not going to have much of a job much longer with anybody because you, you have not done. Listen, the best, the best head coaches in a college football. I'm talking about, you know, Nick Saban. Talking about Kirby Smart.
[00:25:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:25:38] Speaker A: Talking about, you know, from even, like from before we were even born. I, I have forgot what his name was. Huh. Lee Braun, Bear Bryant as well.
The great coaches will always find way, find ways to reload. Oh yeah, they always do. If they have. If they need a new QB in, they will surround him and make sure he's successful.
That is something that Mike Norville has no idea what to do, in my opinion. But when we do come back after the break, we will talk about the College Football Playoff show of what happened this Tuesday and we will talk a little bit more about what we think might come around of it. You know, what big surprises we'll think, what play, what teams need to be a little more higher up, which teams need to be dropped out of all the way out to where Florida State's at. But when we do come back, we'll talk a little bit more about it right after this break.
We are back at it again. As always, Penn State is overrated, but that's okay because we are here to talk before we get into the College Football Playoff picture Week two. If you haven't watched it, we'll kind of go over it.
There is something that's kind of been coming around and as much as I love college football and the NFL, one thing I do love is also recruiting. And I know that Fusaku is probably recruiting Mike Norvell after the season is done with. But that's outside the point when it comes to recruiting. It's one of the most important parts of making your team a lot better. I think people who play NCAA 25 can tell you that Pretty well. But you know, there's been a lot of good, a lot of big news going around with recruiting that kind of does revolve around the SEC in Alabama. Some of the things being Alabama and Ole Miss. They lost a five star wide receiver commit, Caleb Cunningham to Ole Miss and to Lane Kiffin, which was a pretty big major flip for Ole Miss. But I think the biggest one though is it's not a flip, it's just recruiting dudes. Bryce Underwood, the number one recruit, number one quarterback recruit and number one player for the 2025 recruiting class. It's been a battle. He's an LSU commit, but he is from Michigan. And Michigan's quarterback room is about as good as my three toes and my leg. And it's not to say lightly, but they do have supporters. Bar Sewell's founder has been trying Portnoy. He's been trying to drop some money down. Believe this. Devin is apparently Michigan has been offered, is going to offer Underwood $10.5 million over four years.
And Bryce, what's his name? Yeah, what's his name is Bryce Purdy, was it? Purdy? Brock Purdy. My best. Brock Purdy with the Niners. He's not even reaching $1 million for a salary.
[00:29:02] Speaker B: Oh yeah, that's right.
[00:29:03] Speaker A: So let me get it straight.
Underwear is a very good talent all around. But imagine, imagine you are so dagger desperate for a QB that you're about to drop more money than you and I will ever, probably ever see in our lives. Hopefully not to be the case, but still, how, how messed up has the nil world become where you are dropping $10.5 million for a high schooler to come to your school just to give off the football about 40 times a game.
[00:29:43] Speaker B: I mean, shoot, I mean I wish they dropped that on, you know, on my scholarship, man.
[00:29:48] Speaker A: Yeah, I wish that you. Man, I could do it like.
[00:29:50] Speaker B: But dog, man, it's just, it's crazy to see. I mean, 10.5 million, 10.5 million and probably now 17 year old. Gotta be 18 year old kid. That's insane, man. Like this is nil's getting crazy. I mean what happened to the plain old scholarship, you know and a little stipend on the end. Yeah, but man, I just can't believe that we're, we've gone in way too deep where teams are. And what team is this again?
[00:30:15] Speaker A: This is Michigan.
[00:30:15] Speaker B: Michigan. Of course it be golly. I mean, geez, McCarthy wasn't even that much of a superstar. But I mean this is Michigan. They're really Reaching. Cuz. I know, I know Michigan hasn't been great and they've been bad for their standards, but I didn't know they were that down that down bad.
[00:30:34] Speaker A: Well, apparently some cord to some people and how they, how they view this is. They believe that this is because they. If, if you do catch up with recruiting, there's a very, very good chance he will not flip to Michigan. He's already posted on his Instagram story that he is most likely not going to flip to Michigan. He's going to reject the $10.5 million. But to court some people's eyes, they believe this to be the case where they're most likely going to go and target a transfer quarterback.
[00:31:05] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:31:05] Speaker A: And that's okay because there, there's a chance for a couple of good options out there. Some people are looking at Miller Moss. He's probably going to transfer out of USC because his backup is about to take. He's already been benched. But still that's an option.
[00:31:18] Speaker B: Crazy. Miller Moss had a great, you know, beginning of this season.
[00:31:21] Speaker A: Hey, listen, man, LSU does one thing good and that is giving people hope and then letting them fall off on their own. But Miller Miles has opportunity. These are just guesses. We have no idea. Of course Aaron Nolan, the guy who apparently he was a highly four star recruit coming out of high school, committed to Ohio State. Julian sand pulled up, took his spot and now he's about to enter the portal pretty soon. Could be another, could be another name to look out for. And I, I'm not going to put it out there because it hasn't even happened yet. Maybe Eli Holstein, the, the quarterback for Pitt. I'm not saying it's going to happen but it, I think it's just a name just to kind of like it wouldn't surprise me if it, if you were to enter the portal. But still, one thing's for certain.
Michigan has no good QBs. Yeah, they have a running back and like two QBs that are worse than me. I threw two touchdowns passes yesterday to my fraternity football man. I'm balling. Oh yeah, give me about 10.5 million. I can show you how good. But still at the same time a lot of fun stuff recruiting. We'll talk about more about that later on throughout the weeks because early signing day is coming up. But right now let's talk a little bit, just a little bit about the College Football Playoff rankings. What happened this past Tuesday and talking a little bit about it. I still think Penn State is overrated. I think Drew Oller Deserves to be putting fries in the bag. But he's got high upside not to do that.
The guy go over it. Number one is Oregon. Number two, Ohio State. Number three, Texas. Number four, British Day. And number five, Indiana.
[00:32:55] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:32:55] Speaker A: If you said Indiana was going to be a top five team this year, you're about as rich as a guy who started off with bitcoin.
[00:33:02] Speaker B: I mean, you.
[00:33:03] Speaker A: That's incredible.
[00:33:04] Speaker B: I've never seen anything like this. Indiana, they've really going on the run, beating Michigan. I mean, they really stand like, we're here. We are for real.
[00:33:11] Speaker A: And they're 10 0.
If you had that on your res. If you had that on your bingo card, you got my respect. Number six, byu. Oh, yeah, the Fighting Mormons are back at it again. Like they're in the 1970s. And I mean, I don't even know they were good in the 70s. It would be the 80s with Steve Young. But yeah, they have the. They have an amazing overall team. 9, 0. Tennessee. Probably going to lose this weekend to Georgia, in my opinion. But that's okay. The number seven, number eight, Notre Dame. Number nine, Miami. Number 10, Alabama. Number 11, sorry, Ole Miss. And number 12, Georgia. Now, if the playoffs were to happen tomorrow. Right. Georgia would not have made it in. They will not. No. Because they can't.
[00:33:58] Speaker B: So you're right.
[00:33:59] Speaker A: Yesterday. Yeah.
[00:34:00] Speaker B: And so, yeah, Boise would probably get that.
[00:34:03] Speaker A: It would be Boise day. Yes. And so. So with that being in mind and how absolutely awful the SEC has been and how amazing some of these upcoming teams like byu, Indiana, don't forget, don't sleep on smu.
[00:34:19] Speaker B: They have a chance to win the acc. I forget they're even in that conference.
[00:34:23] Speaker A: You're right.
[00:34:23] Speaker B: And it's amazing to see how they went from death penalty to a power five powerhouse.
[00:34:28] Speaker A: You're right.
[00:34:28] Speaker B: It's amazing.
[00:34:29] Speaker A: And they're just outside of it. And I mean, I appreciate you telling me that because I completely forgot about asking me. They actually are really good team. But what do you see could be changing? Like, you look at these top 12, top 11 teams technically, because Boise State still has a chance to probably be the team to make it in. You know, what do you think could happen? What do you think can change from these teams, in your opinion?
[00:34:54] Speaker B: Well, the Big Ten, I feel like they definitely got to eat each other up at some point in time because people love to complain. Oh, SEC bias this, SEC bias that. Well, if we look at this top five, I only see one SEC team and four Big Ten teams. So Big Ten guys, you know, you're getting what you want.
[00:35:11] Speaker A: You can trash talk now.
[00:35:13] Speaker B: Yeah. So. But eventually that's got to come to an end. And the SEC is even with that. Still dominating the College Football Playoff. Now, I'm sure one of them will have to fall, probably will be Georgia. Georgia's always the unfortunate one that has to fall when it comes to, you know, losing that unfortunate game. Yeah, but I mean, it's that 12 spot that's going to make things a lot interesting. I mean, we got Boise, Army's going on a run. Tulane, they're saying Kapoor through Navy. Tulane, that has a serious CFP implication game for the American Conference.
[00:35:44] Speaker A: True.
[00:35:45] Speaker B: Notre Notre Dame, they don't even play in a conference, so can they even get a top four spot?
[00:35:51] Speaker A: Technically, no, they cannot get a top four spot. They. Their best bet is to get a game at home being in, like, the top. Top five through eight.
[00:35:59] Speaker B: Yeah, that's weird. Notre Dame join the conference.
[00:36:01] Speaker A: What comeback they've had since losing to.
[00:36:03] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, niu. Yeah.
[00:36:04] Speaker A: That was a good way. I. I can respect them for it.
[00:36:06] Speaker B: No, you gotta respect that.
[00:36:07] Speaker A: But still, a lot can change. A lot can happen.
This is still a. I mean, we're still a couple of, like, months away from things, you know, being set in motion.
[00:36:21] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. And the SEC has a whole lot of parity.
[00:36:23] Speaker A: Georgia losing, you have the ACC championship still online. You got the SEC championship still on the line. The Big Ten championship is gonna be nice.
[00:36:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:32] Speaker A: I mean, Big 12 is probably gonna be either between BYU and SMU.
[00:36:36] Speaker B: Is SMU and that, or, yeah, they're.
[00:36:38] Speaker A: In the Big 12. Crap.
[00:36:40] Speaker B: I keep. Yeah, they're in the ACC. I keep forgetting, well, why is SMU in the ACC? Why aren't they in the Big 12? It would make so much more sense to be in the Big 12.
[00:36:50] Speaker A: I don't know. Blame Greg Stanky for that.
I don't know. But still a lot of competition still left to be a load of. But with that being said, before we do go on a brayload, let's say one more thing to talk about, I think is, you know, for this upcoming weekend, there's still a lot on the line.
There's one big game, of course. That's where college game is at right now. Oh, yeah. And that is Georgia and Tennessee.
This is the number 12 team against the number 7 team. And before we kind of kind of give our predictions and stuff like that, what we think might happen to kind of give a little bit of detail. Nico Yamalave. I think I said his name right. The quarterback for Tennessee. He is questionable to play because of a concussion he suffered during Mississippi State. Trevor Etm, the running back for Georgia. He is out a game so they will not have probably their best player on offense on the field tomorrow. But still, there's still a lot to say because of Tennessee's QB situation and Georgia not having a good single player on their offense. Carson Beck does not count. Carson Beck deserves to be working at McDonald's. I'm sorry, I'm going to say he's not that good anymore.
But when we do come back, we'll talk about our predictions for this upcoming Week 12 Week of College football games. We'll be right back after the break.
We are back at again. As always, Penn State's overrated, but that's okay because we are here to talk before we get into the College Football Playoff picture Week two. If you haven't watched it, we'll kind of go over it.
There's something that's kind of coming around and as as much as I love college football and the NFL, one thing I do love is also recruiting. Some of the things are being Alabama and Ole Miss they lost a five star wide receiver commit, Caleb Cunningham, two Ole Miss and to Lane Kiffin, which was a pretty big major flip for Ole Miss. But I think the biggest one though is it's not a flip, it's just recruiting dudes.
