[00:00:00] Speaker A: WVUAFM Tuscaloosa. [00:00:10] Speaker B: Hello everybody. You are listening to WVUA 90.7 FM Tuscaloosa student section Fantasy Sports My name is Jamie Martinez and I'm joined by Jake Riker and Lincoln Burkholder. On today's episode. We're going to get you ready for week 10 of fantasy football. We're going to kick it off with our weekly recap including top performers, biggest surprises and biggest busts. Then we'll dive into our top players and predictions for the Thursday Night Football game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Flocking Ravens. Then we're going to give our must start and must sit players for week 10 and finally panic or pause. So let's kick it off with our top performers of week nine of Fantasy football, Jake Rykert. Let's hear it. [00:00:53] Speaker C: Let's get into it. I will apologize ahead of time. I do have a little bit of a cough so I'll try to stay away from the mic or mute the mic so you aren't for those listeners are not getting bombarded bombarded with Jay Kreker calls. Anyway, I believe he was the top performer this week and I didn't have a problem with it because I started him in my flex spot in my biggest league. But that is the wide receiver for The Seattle Seahawks. JSN Jackson Smith Najigba. He dropped 37 points this week. He had seven receptions off 180 yards and found the end zone twice this week and their overtime thriller loss against the LA Rams. But jsn, he produced and I feel like, I feel like there'd be a good amount of people out there that had him in your starting lineup this week. There was a couple guys banged up and hurt. So if you had JSN slip into your flex spot, it was a great week for you. [00:01:51] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely. Jsn, that whole game was crazy. But Rams pull out another thriller. That team just will not go away. But I'll dive into a guy who I expected to play fantastic and boy did he play fantastic. Saquon Barkley, obviously running back for the Eagles. Divisional matchup against the Cowboys, who he owned while he was in New York and newsflash, he still owns them. Yep, 32.9 fantasy points, 27 carries, 159 yards. He had two touchdowns, one on the ground, one through the air and then three catches for 40 yards. He probably could have single handedly beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and he single handedly beat a lot of fantasy teams. So shout out Saquon Barkley. He actually single handedly won me my matchup in our Fantasy League, our four man fantasy league. [00:02:40] Speaker C: Yeah, everybody was 4 and 4 going. [00:02:43] Speaker A: Into the now we're 5 and 4 and 4 and 5 and we all play the 5 and 4 plays 4 and 5 on both sides. Yeah, we're going to go 5 and 5. [00:02:51] Speaker B: That would be awesome. [00:02:52] Speaker A: I'm doomed this week. It's fate. [00:02:55] Speaker B: My must not must start. My top performer this week, starting it off with the RB2 just behind Saquon Barkley and that is Devon Achan of the Miami Dolphins. How good he is when Tua Tagovailoa actually plays needs to be studied. He is so much more efficient, so much better. In the two games that Tua has been back, Achan has benefited. And against Buffalo this week, 12 carries, 63 yards and a touchdown to go along with eight receptions on eight targets for 58 yards and another touchdown racked him up 32.1 points. Achan's a monster. It was a bit scary for Achan owners midseason seeing Skyler Thompson out there. I'd be scared too. But Devon Hn, it's back. He's back and he's going to be an RB1 contender by the end of the end of the season. So Achan owners stand up because it's time. [00:03:48] Speaker C: Holy cow. I'm sorry, you probably could have heard that from the other two bikes. I'm struggling over here. My next top performer, it's a Baltimore Raven. I can't go a week without talking about the Baltimore Ravens and honestly this one felt good because week after, excuse me. Holy cow. Week after week I had Lincoln sitting over here to my left talking about how barbecue chicken our secondary was. But that best defense in the league led Zay Flowers drop 29.7 fantasy points this week. He had five catches for 127 yards and found the end zone twice. And that one touchdown was pretty sweet. [00:04:26] Speaker B: It was pretty cool. [00:04:27] Speaker A: Your guys secondary is still barbecue chicken. Flowers is elite but your secondary is still barbecue chicken. [00:04:34] Speaker B: Barbecue chicken. [00:04:35] Speaker C: Don't know about barbecue chicken. [00:04:36] Speaker A: And we'll get more barbecue chicken when we get to Thursday night top performer because it's a rough matchup this week for the Baltimore Raven secondary and and Marlon Humph. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Andrew Rios of us is coming. [00:04:48] Speaker C: He's playing. [00:04:48] Speaker A: Someone was hurt. I must have been thinking about a different game. Everyone on my fantasy team's hurt. So real. [00:04:55] Speaker C: But yeah, that one just felt good. In the Ravens 41 to 10 victory over the Denver Broncos. [00:05:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Actually did watch that whole game in my Noah Phant jersey. I only spiked it on the ground one time. [00:05:10] Speaker C: Can I ask when that one time was during the game? [00:05:12] Speaker A: Oh yeah, it's a pretty obvious time. I had stood up to go get something to drink. It was right before halftime and I turned around and Zay Flowers was running in the open field for a 75 yard touchdown with like 23 seconds left to put us down like 20. And then I turned on 2K at halftime to get away from. To get away from that disaster. But yeah, no Broncos on the top performer list today. I'll get into mine. Number two. It's a guy we were worried about. He's appeared on a Panic or Paw segment a couple times this season. In an offense that has struggled to get anything going ever. The New York jets, it's Garrett Wilson. Devonte Adams came over two weeks ago now and in those two weeks Garrett Wilson has gone over 90 yards both times. He has two touchdowns. He got them both last week. And he's had eight and 10 targets in those two games. Sixteen and then 30 this week against Houston. Nine for 90 and two touchdowns. So I mean the jets seem to be just throwing the ball nonstop even to Breeze Hall. They just don't run it as much as you would expect like a New York jets team with Breece hall to do. But the jets aren't winning. But Garrett Wilson produced. So shout out Garrett Wilson. Great week. [00:06:23] Speaker B: That's all we ever wanted. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Much better than Devonte Adams, who I actually don't know how many points he scored this week. [00:06:28] Speaker B: Nah, my next top performer could have been on the biggest surprises list if it wasn't for the fact that he faced the commanders and he should have done this. But it's Danny Dimes. Daniel Jones, quarterback of the New York giants, finishes the QB4 this week with 174 passing yards. Two tuddies, only one turnover. That's good by his standards. Only on a fumble. Seven rushes, 54 yards and another touchdown racked up Danny Dimes with 24.36 fantasy points. Who would have thought Danny. Danny Dimes would be putting up numbers like this? His best performance fantasy wise of the year. It probably won't continue. But Daniel Jones, who knows? He gets Carolina next week. You never know. We could be seeing a 40 bomb out of Daniel Jones. So let's move on to our biggest surprise prizes. Let's keep it hype. [00:07:17] Speaker C: Yeah, I got one to talk about that I'm really upset about because I was in my RA league here at the University of Alabama. I was playing the only undefeated team left and I was 7:1 and I had a great chance of winning until Mr. Demarcus Robinson played. And for some reason the RA I was playing. She decided to start Demarcus Robinson and my thing keeps going away. There it is. Dropped 27.4 points. He had six catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns against me. I lost that game by under two points. So that was a rough one. DeMarcus Robinson has been, I don't even know if I want to say Spotty because Spotty is giving him a little grace. He had the week before he had 17 and then he had 12 but other than that, obviously behind Cooper cup and Puka who have been in and out of the lineup. But yeah, of course he had a fantastic week against me this week, but he was definitely a big surprise for me. [00:08:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll get into. Yeah, this one. It's going to be a tough one to do. I dunked on this guy when he was traded a week or two ago. 32 year old DeAndre Hopkins, first ballot hall of Famer no doubt. I did not have a lot of hope for him in Kansas City and boy was I wrong. 28.6 points this week. [00:08:37] Speaker B: Wow. [00:08:37] Speaker A: Xavier Worthy was completely invisible and we'll get to him in the next segment. But DeAndre Hopkins, eight catches on nine targets, 86 yards, two touchdowns. He looked completely unstoppable on Monday night against the Bucks. Take it with a little bit of a grain of salt. The Bucks secondary has been horrible this season, flat out. And I still wouldn't play him this week because he plays Denver. But who knows, maybe they'll put up 41 on us again. [00:09:03] Speaker B: So. [00:09:04] Speaker A: But DeAndre Hopkins, fantastic week. Didn't expect a lot but he's back. Maybe. Patrick Mahomes seems to love him and he's definitely, he definitely looked like the best receiver on that team on Monday night. [00:09:14] Speaker B: So for sure my first big surprise. I love talking about defenses and kickers so I'm going to talk about a defense. The defense number one being the Los Angeles Rams against the Seattle Seahawks. Surprising considering we saw a lot of high scores from that game. Fantasy wise like JSN who was the overall player one we just touched on DeMarcus Robinson. But the Rams defense finishes with 18 points, 7 sacks, a touchdown, 3 interceptions on Geno Smith who currently leads the NFL and passing yards. But turnover wise, not looking good either on his part. So the Rams defense capitalized. Not a very good defense by any means. They gave up. They had negative five Points against Arizona in week two. So not the best defense, but getting it done this week in a divisional matchup against the Seahawks. [00:10:06] Speaker C: Yeah, it's funny that you went to a defense because I got a defense as well for a big surprise, and that is the LA Chargers defense. [00:10:14] Speaker B: Los Angeles. Okay. [00:10:15] Speaker C: I was just a little confused because they were playing Cleveland. In Cleveland, who just put up great numbers against that Ravens defense. I expected the Browns offense to still look pretty sustainable with Jameis Woodson back there. Anything's better than what they were producing with the Sean Watson at quarterback. So I was expecting another decent week out of the Cleveland offense just because the Chargers defense is. I don't know. They're okay, but. Yeah, I just really, especially with the game being in Cleveland, I wasn't expecting it to be a 27 to 10 win for the Chargers, but their defense had 19 points. They had three picks and a block. Field goal, I believe it was. Or maybe a punt. I think it was a field goal. But yeah, they almost put up a 20 bomb. I was not expecting that out of the Chargers defense this week. [00:11:03] Speaker A: Yeah. And even in that defensive route, keep in mind, for fantasy purposes, Cedric Tillman had 19 fantasy points in that game. [00:11:11] Speaker B: They were late points. [00:11:12] Speaker A: Cleveland got throttled. [00:11:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:14] Speaker A: And Cedric Tillman had 19. [00:11:15] Speaker B: It was. It was garbage time touchdown. [00:11:17] Speaker A: But we'll take it, man. Garbage time touchdowns are so satisfying. Love garbage time touchdowns when they help out my team. But here's a guy that I don't think probably helped out many teams this week, but maybe got a couple pickups on the waiver wire. And that was Mike Gasicki. [00:11:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:32] Speaker A: 27 fantasy points, even for the Titans end in Cincinnati now. Five catches, 100 yards, two touchdowns. He had seven for 73 last week. Looks like with T. Higgins out, he's a tight end one if you need one. I definitely get him on your team and in your lineup if you need a tight end this weekend. T. Higgins doesn't go. It doesn't look like he's going to. And with Zach Moss now out too, for the season, there's not a ton of options in that Bengals offense. Kosicki is probably the second best one on the outside with Jamar Chase. So fantastic game for him, hopefully. And keep it up. I like Kasicki, always a touchdown guy. [00:12:09] Speaker B: He has a great gritty too. But keeping it in Cincinnati, I want to touch on that benefactor of Zach Moss going down. You know, prayers up to Zach Moss. But Chase Brown had himself one heck of a game, so he's going to Be. Yeah, a lot. 27 rushing attempts for 120 yards. No touchdowns on the ground, but five receptions, 37 yards and a touchdown through the air racks them up 26.7 points. Chase Brown's going to look like a must start type of player for the rest of the year with Zach Moss down. They did trade for Khalil Herbert, so it'll be interesting to see how that affects his role. But 27 carries is hard to deny and I think Chase Brown is going to be a very valuable fantasy asset as time goes on. [00:12:52] Speaker A: So now hold on real quick before we go, I will say like that split between Jace Brown and Zach Moss before Moss went down was 50. 50 pretty much completely. But nobody, no other running back on that roster touched the football like not even once. [00:13:06] Speaker B: Never. [00:13:07] Speaker A: So I do expect Khalil Herbert to get the football. I think they want to use two backs. I don't think Chase Brown is. Has the size to get 26 carries every single game. But yeah, Chase Brown will still be fantastic. He's a lot better than Khalil Herbert. So yeah, no worries about his RB2 or RB1 status the rest of the year. [00:13:26] Speaker B: It's going to take time for Herbert to learn that system too. So if you got Chase Brown now, it's the best time to use boom. They bring the boom. Biggest busts. [00:13:35] Speaker C: All right, Womp, womp, womp. I'll kick it off with a receiver that is on my roster that I just, I just feel for. The quarterback situation is a mess. The starting quarterback is back and I'm talking about the Miami Dolphins with tua and it's not Tyreek Hill because he had, well, I say decent but pretty bad week for like 14. Yeah, but Jalen Waddle, he had 7.6. He had two catches for negative 4 yards and a touchdown. Hey, at least he found the end zone, I guess. [00:14:07] Speaker A: But he did something. [00:14:08] Speaker C: I figured Waddle would start to turn it on once TUA came back and maybe they're just still trying to find that feel on that offense. With two back, Achan's thriving. So that's awesome. But Tyreek Hill and Waddle are still waiting for those numbers, the production numbers for their owners to go back up now that two is back. It's just, it's just hard to see. I don't know. Waddles, someone to. I think I'll talk about later in a later segment. [00:14:34] Speaker B: That's a good one. [00:14:35] Speaker A: Maybe our favorite segment. [00:14:36] Speaker C: Yeah, might be. [00:14:38] Speaker B: That's a hint. [00:14:40] Speaker C: But yeah, Jalen Waddle with a pretty Upsetting week, especially with negative four yards. That's. [00:14:45] Speaker B: Yeah, that's rough. [00:14:48] Speaker A: I'll get into a guy I so high on him coming into the season. I picked him in every single league I could. He's been starting in my lineup ever since. And this is the first week where he will not be starting in my lineup. And that is Marvin Harrison Jr. Coming off week eight in Miami, he had six catches, 111 yards and a touchdown, 23 points. He looked great. It looked like they were going to continue to use him, like he was going to start getting the targets he deserved. 2 catches, 5 targets, 34 yards on Sunday against the Bears. It is a trend here. He struggles against talented cornerback ones. Chicago had Jalen Johnson. He struggled against Green Bay, the Chargers and San Fran where Jair Alexander, Javarius Ward, Antoine or Samuel Assante. Samuel Jr. And then Buffalo has to Davius White. But the three games where he went off the Rams, Detroit and Washington. So if he gets a good matchup, I love him in your lineup, but if he's playing a good cornerback one and he gets saw as Gardner this week, I'd stay probably as far away as possible. Unfortunately. Man, I love Marv, but it's been. It's been rough Slut. And hopefully he picks it up. He's got a. Got a good schedule down the stretch. [00:15:58] Speaker B: Very rough, very sticking in the NFC West. A guy that decided boxing was more important than football. This week I'm going to go with Puka Nakua of the LA Rams. I have been waiting for this man to come back and play some football forever. He was, I think, my third or fourth round pick this year and he's been on the IR all year and he comes back first week I bench him against Minnesota. I didn't pick him back up. He has 18 points. I was like, oh man, he's got to start now. It's his time. It's Puka time. No, not at all. One reception, four targets, 11 yards, one punch thrown, one ejection for Puka Nakua this week, 2.1 fantasy points for Puka. [00:16:42] Speaker A: Almost as many punches as fantasy points he scored. [00:16:44] Speaker B: Yeah, that, that's. That's a fact. And so Puka making fantasy owners angry worldwide. And it's not like his matchup gets any easier this week. He gets Miami, who's third in the NFL against wide receivers. So hopefully Puka can keep his temper. I know he's a big Lakers fan, so maybe he's mad about Lebron or something, but yeah, Puka Nukua. I don't know what you're doing. Man up. [00:17:10] Speaker C: Very, very unfortunate. Yeah, I guess I'll get into another biggest bust. Let's see. Who do I want to talk about? I guess I'll go with another running back or. No, I just did a receiver, but a running back for the Cleveland Browns. It's hard to put him on the biggest bus list just because, you know, he came back from a really tough injury. He's only a couple of weeks back. [00:17:37] Speaker A: But I actually thought about it and didn't do it for those exact reasons. [00:17:40] Speaker C: But I'm going to do it just. [00:17:41] Speaker A: Because, well, he deserves it. [00:17:43] Speaker C: He does deserve it a little bit. I love Nick Chubb, but ever since he came back from that injury, it's just been very underwhelming. And obviously, you know, coming off a bad injury like that, his second bad knee injury on the same knee, I believe. Really hard to come back and produce. But there's a good bit of hype surrounding Nick Chubb and he dropped 4.5 points. Maybe he'll start to turn it on for the Browns. I'm not really sure. There's. The Browns have a very disappointing season. Besides obviously beating the Ravens at home. That was great for them, but other than that, it's very underwhelming. And the same comes. The same is to say about their production of fantasy football players. [00:18:21] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll keep this one quick. I got a bone to pick with Xavier Worthy. Steps out of bounds. Started him in my lineup this week. Needed a big performance out of my flex. I got nothing. Actually, I got less than nothing. He scored negative one points on Monday night against the worst secondary in football, potentially 27th against the pass, 27th against wide receivers in fantasy. Couldn't even crack zero. Zero catches, zero yards, two targets, two carries, negative 10 yards. I don't know if you'll see a stat line worse than that from a wide receiver. Two or one all season. I don't expect him to be that bad going forward, but man, that was rough. Luckily my game was already over by Monday night. He would have needed like 60 to save me. But tough one, tough one for Xavier Worthy and they scored a lot of points in that game. He is. He does tend to get touchdowns, but not. Not this time. [00:19:19] Speaker B: No, not at all. [00:19:20] Speaker A: That was brutal. [00:19:22] Speaker B: I'm going to go to a receiver who has been really consistent his entire career. One or more 1,000 yard seasons under his belt. And it's Michael Pittman Jr. Who has just been depressing all year. And even with Anthony Richardson out who we know, can't pass a football unless it's a 60 yard nuke into the end zone. You would think Michael Pittman would benefit with Joe Flacco and that was not the case this week as you saw four targets, one reception for 2.4 points on 14 yards. It's been really disappointing. It seems when Joe Flacco plays, Josh Downs is the big benefactor, but not Michael Pittman. He hasn't cracked higher than 18 points this year. He had 17.3 once, 14, 12 and a whole lot of single digits after that. So Michael Pittman has been disappointing to say the least this season. So hopefully he can turn it around with Joe Flacco, get back in that offense. But it's rough for Michael Pittman Jr. Owners probably haven't started him in a while. But with that, we're gonna be right back after a short intermission with our Thursday Night Football predictions. We'll see you soon. [00:20:41] Speaker A: WVUAFM Tuscaloosa. [00:20:52] Speaker B: Welcome back to WVUA 90.7 FM Tuscaloosa student section Fantasy Sports we're back with our Thursday Night Football predictions between the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens. Let's kick it off with Jake Ryker. Go Flock. [00:21:07] Speaker C: Go Flock indeed. Fun fact, in case you make your predictions, this might be a little bit of, you know, convincing, but John Harbaugh, Under John Harbaugh, the Baltimore Ravens at home on Thursday Night Football are eight and oh, just gonna put that out there. [00:21:26] Speaker B: Whoa. [00:21:26] Speaker C: But anyway, my biggest performer, I gotta go with the man that has just been eating all year long. He's guaranteed to find the end zone at least once tomorrow night and that's Derrick Henry. I expect Derek Henry to have easily over 100 yards in this game. Cincinnati's run defense has been horrendous and surprisingly enough, I think Lincoln will definitely disagree. But other than the last, the first time they met and the year that Joe Burrow threw like 500 yards in that one game because we had an entire practice squad secondary out there. The Ravens and Bengals in Baltimore are usually pretty low scoring, gritty AFC game and I expect that to be the case tomorrow, at least for the Bengals. So that's why I have Derek Henry. That's. Well, I mean, the last the reason I don't have a receiver is because I don't think it's going to be very high scoring. I don't think the Ravens and Lamar are going to have to throw for six touchdowns and you know, it's not going to be a, an air barrage tomorrow. So I got Derek Henry Going for at least 120 yards, and I think he finds the end zone twice tomorrow night. So in my prediction, I got the flock winning. Can't go against them. I got them winning. I'm gonna say. I don't know. I'm gonna say 24 now. We're gonna score three touchdowns now. I'll go 24. 24 to 17. Baltimore wins. [00:22:52] Speaker A: All right, I'll get into mine. I do not have a Raven in the top performer spot. Not because I don't think the Ravens are going to win, and not because I think the Ravens are going to have to throw for six touchdowns to win, but because I think the Bengals are going to have to throw for six touchdowns if they want to win this football game. And the only receiver on the outside right now in Cincinnati, that's healthy. T. Higgins looking like he's not going to come back this week. All they've got on the outside is fantasy wide receiver one Jamar Chase. [00:23:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:20] Speaker A: Last time against Baltimore, he scored 41.3 fantasy 93 yards and two touchdowns. He's had 11 targets in both of his last two games. Baltimore secondary, well, it has been improved over the last several weeks. I'll give them that. It's still nothing to, like, be terrified over, especially if you're Jamar Chase. I've got him nine catches, 173 yards, and two more touchdowns against the Ravens this year, but it's not going to be enough to get it done. The Ravens are the best football team on the planet, and it's not close. [00:23:52] Speaker C: Wow. [00:23:52] Speaker A: 38 to 27. Ravens beat him. [00:23:55] Speaker B: Whoa. [00:23:55] Speaker A: Not gonna. [00:23:56] Speaker B: Wow. [00:23:57] Speaker C: Holy smokes. [00:23:58] Speaker A: I have never in my life seen an offense move the football at the rate that the Ravens do. They. You can't. They can't be like, I like. The only defense that I've seen stop them was the Chiefs, and it was week one and the Browns. But that was a fluke. [00:24:13] Speaker C: That was a fluke. [00:24:14] Speaker A: But, like, the Ravens offense is legitimately generational. [00:24:18] Speaker B: Wow. [00:24:18] Speaker C: Wow. [00:24:19] Speaker A: And I. [00:24:20] Speaker C: And I didn't say it. I'm not the one to say it. [00:24:22] Speaker A: I think I sat down and watched four quarters of the Broncos just getting crushed play after play. And that was the best defense in football, the best secondary in football up to that point. And they just looked like they'd never played a snap before against Baltimore. [00:24:36] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:37] Speaker A: I don't think that's our defense being bad. I think that's just how good. There's just. There's too many weapons. They could run it with Lamar. They could Run it with Derrick Henry. So you got to stack the box. But then they have Zay Flowers and Deontay Johnson. Now who's going to get a little bit more snaps this week? They got Mark Andrews. What do you do? Who do you Guard? [00:24:56] Speaker B: Man, imagine they had a quarterback. [00:24:58] Speaker C: Wow. [00:24:59] Speaker B: Wow, wow. [00:25:01] Speaker C: Okay, thanks, dude. [00:25:02] Speaker A: QB1. MVP. Frontrunners. The only team that could beat the Ravens is the Chiefs. Just because they're the Chiefs. [00:25:13] Speaker B: Yeah, that's what they do. [00:25:13] Speaker A: They just. I never give. I mean, they're undefeated, so. [00:25:19] Speaker B: Okay, well, my top performer is going to be Jamar Chase this week as well. Lincoln kind of hit the nail on the head. The Raven secondary, although improving, is not really great. So I have jamar going for nine receptions, 122 yards and a touchdown for 27.2 fantasy points. And then, Jake, what was that record you said earlier? The eight? [00:25:41] Speaker C: No, baby, eight. [00:25:42] Speaker B: No. [00:25:42] Speaker C: I believe it's either eight no or seven. [00:25:44] Speaker A: Zero. [00:25:44] Speaker B: Wow. [00:25:44] Speaker C: Either way, the second number is still zero. [00:25:47] Speaker B: Wow. Eight. No. I remember when Lamar was undefeated against NFC teams. And you know who broke that? Daniel Jones. [00:25:53] Speaker A: So this week I remember that. That was crazy. [00:25:56] Speaker B: So this week I'm still picking the Ravens. That really had nothing to do with it. I kind of just wanted to say, but I'm gonna go. With the Ravens winning 31 to 23, Derek Henry's gonna find his groove. And only reason I don't have them with the top performers, because I think the ball gets spread or spread around. I think Deontay maybe finds the end zone, Zay finds the end zone, and then Derrick Henry finds the end zone. So no big performer, but a W nonetheless for the Ravens. So now let's move on to our favorite segment. We touched on it earlier. Panic or pause. Let's kick it off with Jake Record. [00:26:30] Speaker C: Well, I definitely touched on it earlier because I pretty much said he was going to be coming up in this segment from me. And my player is Jalen Waddle, the wide receiver two for the Miami Dolphins. Even with Tua back, his numbers have not been great. So what do we think about Waddle? [00:26:49] Speaker B: Panic. Panic. Panic. Panic. On Jaylen Waddle. We expected his numbers to shoot back up with Tua coming back. That was kind of the expectation for all of the Miami Dolphins, and that's held true with Devon Achan. For sure, he has been great, but Tyree Kill still not up to Tyree Kill numbers. And Jalen Waddle has been just terrible. I mean, what did he have? Negative 4 yards or that this week? That is abysmal and you can't have that. So maybe, maybe he's still acclimating to Tua coming back. I don't know what it is, but two straight stinkers out of Jalen Waddle with Tua back, that's scary. And the Dolphins still don't look back to form, especially compared to like last year at the beginning of this year. So I'm going to panic on Jalen Waddle pretty big time. Just not liking the situation right now. [00:27:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean I've been pretty patient on this segment over the course of the year, but it's week 10 now. Yep, it's do or die. You're either going to make the playoffs or you're not. If you win now, you probably will. If you don't win now, it's you've only got four weeks left until week 14, which is when week 15 is when most playoffs will start. Waddle has scored over 10 points once this season. He's only gotten over five targets once in his last three games and even before that it wasn't all that great. He doesn't, he hasn't done a lot with him and that offense just doesn't look like he's going to be a main cog in it. The schedule is relatively easy. Rams, Vegas, Patriots, Green Bay. But then, and then the jets playoff schedules, Houston, San Fran and Cleveland though, and I hate that. So I'm all out. Panic I if you can ship them away, ship him away. If not, he's probably just going to be rotten on your bench. Unfortunately. I love Jalen Waddle, but this is not the year so hopefully he'll be back. Hopefully proves me wrong. I'd love if he'd be great down the stretch. I have him in a couple leagues, but I'm panicking. It's a large panic button and that'll segue right into my guy who plays for the same team Tyree killed. [00:28:56] Speaker B: Talk about wow again, we're back. Unless I love talking. Tyreek. [00:29:00] Speaker A: Yeah, Jake? Did you talk about Jalen Waddle? I didn't. [00:29:02] Speaker C: I did. [00:29:02] Speaker A: You did. [00:29:03] Speaker C: Jalen Waddle? [00:29:04] Speaker A: Yeah. Yep. Okay, then have at it. Tyree Kill. What's your guy? The wide receiver one, I think. [00:29:12] Speaker B: I think last time we touched on Tyree Kill, I said big time panic. [00:29:16] Speaker A: Yes. [00:29:17] Speaker B: But with Tua back, I'm still panicking because he's not putting up those Tyree Kill numbers that we're used to seeing. But it's not gonna be that major siren going off panic button. Not that one. Just like a small panic button. A Little bit small because I think. I think it's there. Not sure what's up with Tyree Kill, what's going on, but the potential is there, the big play scoring is there. And I feel like that connection has to start going off if they want to win football games. And I think the Dolphins know it. So they get the Rams this week, which are a pretty mediocre secondary. So I think if it's going to happen, it's got to happen this week in la. The Rams don't have a very good home stadium, so it's not like it's that bad of a away game. I think Tyrion's got to turn up. So a little panic button because I slap some hope, but it's definitely scary hours. [00:30:10] Speaker C: Yeah, I would do a little panic button too. I think there's. Hold on. Sorry about that. But I would say it kind of depends on what your team looks like right now. Obviously, Tyreek Hill was probably a top five pick in your fantasy draft. So if miraculously, if you were lucky enough to get the great support from your lower round picks and they're doing good enough where he can only put up 15 points a week and you're still winning games, then I mean, it's still a little bit of a panic. But it's not as big as, oh my gosh, I need to have a meltdown or I'm not going to win it out of the game. Obviously, I believe the trade deadline is still open for most fantasy leagues. So if someone, if there's a taker out there and you can get a little bit of value for Tyree Kill, I'd also say go for it, but I would definitely say panic. The only reason I'm saying pause is if you can still win games with Tyreek Hill not consistently scoring that 22 to 25 points week. Because I definitely think he can do that here and there, depending on the game and if they find their thing. Unfortunately, the Dolphins don't. The AFC looks pretty good and I don't see the Dolphins making the playoffs. So they don't have much to play for, which doesn't help the case for Tyree Kill. But, you know, enough of me rambling. It's a small panic. [00:31:34] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm not going to panic at all just because I don't think you have a choice with Tyree Kill. You picked him top three. Probably he's going to be your wide receiver one from here until the end of the season. And he probably has been even over the last eight weeks or nine weeks but it's got he's got to pick it up soon. I do like the production has spiked with to it has gone back up 13 and then 12 last week. He just needs to get in the end zone and we'll see that production. So I think Rams, Vegas New England is a great stretch for him to get right and they'll need him down the stretch for if they happen to still be competing for a playoff spot. I doubt they will be at 2 and 7. I think they are right now or 2 and 6. But yeah I still like Tyreek Hill. Jalen Waddle. There's not enough in that offense to go around but Tyree Kill I can surely surely he'll pick it up. [00:32:27] Speaker B: My panic or pause is an interesting one. I don't think this is a name that's ever been said on this segment really because he's a very, very phenomenal football player. But some certain things have happened to his team that he couldn't control and it's situations not looking good. So I'm going with Sedarian Lamb, CD Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys. Dak goes down. He's on the IR so he's gone for at least four weeks. CeeDee's been having a bit of a down year, especially compared to last year where he was debatably the best receiver in the NFL. He was incredible last season, not up to those expectations so far, but now he has to deal with Cooper Rush at quarterback. Rush, obviously a lot of experience in that offense, but not the best quarterback whatsoever. So how we feeling with it? We know the Cowboys also just brought in Jonathan Mingo. More receivers. Maybe they're going to spread the ball around a little more to other people. Do we think it's time to panic maybe on Ceedee Lamb or are we holding off on one of the more talented guys in the league? [00:33:26] Speaker A: I think I'm going to pause. I was trying to pull up the stats from Cooper Rush's four games last year but I can't get him to show up. But from what I remember he was still or CD Lamb was still a very viable wide receiver, high end wide receiver 2 low end wide receiver 1. With Cooper Rush there, he still is and will continue to be the number one target on that offense by a mile. There isn't a lot else there. It's just Jalen Tolbert, Jake Ferguson. I don't even know if Michael Gallup is still there. I think he is. And Brandon? [00:34:00] Speaker C: He's not actually. [00:34:01] Speaker A: Or no, he's not. [00:34:02] Speaker C: Then Brandon Cook Signed somewhere irrelevant. [00:34:04] Speaker A: I thought he retired and someone Rico Dowdle, and that's about it. So Cooper Rush gonna throw to who he knows can make a play, and that's CD Lamb. So he honestly might get more targets than he did when Dak was under center. The production won't be the same because it's not the same quality quarterback. But Cooper Rush is a solid backup. He can keep CD Lamb fantasy relevant. [00:34:23] Speaker C: I'll. [00:34:24] Speaker A: I'll pause. I think you can still get 18ish a week out of him. He should score still. That's what I'm more worried about. If the Cowboys often stop scoring touchdowns, we're in trouble. [00:34:33] Speaker B: Yeah, they're screwed. [00:34:33] Speaker A: But if he can get into the end zone, maybe every other week, the yard should be there to support it. [00:34:40] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna go with a little bit of a panic on CD Lamb. Even when Dak was there. See, I just. The Cowboys just look like a hot mess right now. [00:34:49] Speaker B: Yeah, they're bad. [00:34:50] Speaker C: It's bad. And I know CD Lam's banged up. I don't know if he's missing any time. [00:34:55] Speaker B: He's questionable right now. I haven't seen anything about him. [00:34:57] Speaker A: He's an AC joint. [00:34:59] Speaker B: Right. [00:34:59] Speaker C: But even if he does play, he's banged up. And I hate to be the one to say it, but that money clearly went to that guy's head. Like he turned into a complete diva since he signed that contract. Something just doesn't look right in Dallas. But I do agree with Jamie a little bit. Cooper Rush, he has experience there and Dallas offense looked a little bit better when he was back there. Just because I think Dak was. Was beat up. And I don't. I don't know what's going on with him, but I'm going to panic on CD Lamb. But I also agree with Lincoln. He definitely can turn it on. He's a stud receiver. He's a star. He's going to put up numbers if, you know, he has that connection with Rush. But there's a little bit of panic for me. Luckily, I don't have him in any league, so not too much panic. [00:35:42] Speaker B: But yeah, as a CD owner, I'm panicking just a little bit. [00:35:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:47] Speaker B: Cooper. Cooper Rush, obviously, like I said earlier, experience in the offense, but not the most talented quarterback. C.D. lamb, one of the more talented receivers in the NFL. But now dealing with a very rough situation where I feel like somebody like Rico Dowdle is going to get more opportunities, opportunities with the football. Saw a very heavy workload last week, ended up with 21 fantasy points. And now without Dak, I think they start running the ball more. They just traded for Jonathan Mingo. Don't know how many not carries, how many receptions he's going to take away. Can't imagine it being very much, if any at all. But CD target monster, reception monster. It's just, I'm not sure if I like the situation and the Cowboys just, just don't look good. I would say pause if Trey Lance was playing, but that's not the case. So I'm gonna hit a little panic button. Same size as Tyrakill, not major panic because the potential's there, but I'm freaking out just a little bit. So with that, we can go into a quick intermission and hop back in with our must starts for Week 10 of fantasy football. See you soon. [00:37:03] Speaker A: WVUAFM Tuscaloosa. [00:37:14] Speaker B: Welcome back to WVUA 90.7 FM Tuscaloosa student section Fantasy Sports. We're back with our week 10 must starts and must sits. Let's get into it. [00:37:26] Speaker C: All right, I'll start with my first must start. He's a little bit of an underrated rookie receiver this year who's become, I don't want to say a star, but definitely a. I don't know what the word I want to use is. A stud maybe. [00:37:44] Speaker B: There you go. Yeah. [00:37:45] Speaker C: For that Chargers offense. And it's Ladd McConkey. He's been great. Why is my phone not loading? He's been great the last couple weeks and pretty much all season. He had a few down weeks, but you know that's, that's to happen when you're in a Grohman run first offense, especially with Jim Harwell as a coach. But Vlad McConkey has been great the last couple weeks. I know he's going against a tough Tennessee secondary this week, but at this point I don't think it matters. I think they're going to find a way to give him the ball. He's been upwards of near eight targets. Pretty much. He's had seven targets. 1, 2, 3, 7 or more, I should say 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4. Five times this year. And they've had their bye week already, so that's more than you think. So I think he's a must start this week. Obviously not in like an eight man league, but this is going bigger leagues. 12 mans. He's a good flex option. Maybe a wide receiver too. [00:38:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll get into a guy. Another deep league start here. I'd probably cap it at 10 man it's Juwan Jennings for San Francisco. He's been out like it he was out for two weeks prior to their week nine by they get as we mentioned on this exact on this show earlier the show, the Tampa Bay secondary, it's not very good against fantasy wide receivers. He plays them this week he'll be the bona fide wide receiver two next to Debo Samuel. If Debo Samuel plays and if Joanne Jennings plays, he is questionable, but it's looking like he's trending towards being back when he was a featured receiver in this offense in Week 3, he scored 46 fantasy points, which stands as the highest total from any player scored this season at any position. And there should be at least I'd say 8 to 10 targets available for him in this offense with Brandon Iuk unfortunately out for the year. So Juwan Jennings definitely a solid look as a flex option. Maybe a borderline wide receiver too in PPR formats and especially a non PPR or half PPR because this touchdown that he could get could be pretty valuable. So I like Juwan Jennings this week. I'd put him in your lineup. [00:39:46] Speaker B: I like Juwan Jennings too. My first must start TJ Hawkinson. Owners stashing him away all year can finally rejoice as TJ Hawkinson gets the Jacksonville Jaguars this week and it's looking like he's going to be back to his full workload. He played last week only seeing four targets, three catches, 27 yards, so only 5.7 points last week. But I think against Jacksonville, who is 23rd in the NFL against the tight end position, I think Hawkinson's going to be back to his full workload, back to himself after that very scary knee injury he saw last season. So Hawkinson, he's back. He's better than ever. And the Vikings look very, very good this season and all those weapons over there, they're eating. So don't count out TJ Hawkinson because he's got to eat too. So Hawkins Hawks vs Jackson Jacksonville Stardom. [00:40:38] Speaker C: This one's a pretty obvious start, but I'm gonna throw it in there just because I deserve we start because we deserve to start talking about him because we're going to and that is Christian McCaffrey. I have to do it. I know he's an obvious must start, but if he plays this weekend it looks like he is. [00:40:57] Speaker B: That's what he's looking like. [00:40:58] Speaker C: Words of doing that because he had no pain in his Achilles. He's a must start obviously. But I just want to give him a little bit of praise because I think we're going to be going to do that quite often very soon, hopefully. [00:41:09] Speaker B: I hope so. [00:41:10] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll roll in. I'll keep this second one quick It's Giants running back Tyrone Tracy. He has projected 15 points this week, so he's likely in your lineup as is. But if he's not, make sure he is. 20 carries in Week 8, 16 last week against Washington. Not a ton of involvement in the passing game, just three catches over the last two weeks. But he scored 23 when he got 20 carries against Pittsburgh. He's got the talent, he's got the workload. That's his job. He's had over 15 carries in four the last five weeks and he plays Carolina. It doesn't get much better than that. And Tyrone Tracy should be explosive once again this week. [00:41:48] Speaker B: 3 49ers mentioned. I love that because I'm going to go with the QB10 this season. Mr. Relevant Brock Purdy because this Tampa game, they're coming off the bye week. Tampa is really not good defensively in any facet, especially against the quarterback position where they're ranked 31st in the NFL, nearly dead last. Purdy's coming off a very, very good game against Dallas where he had 26 points and I think against Tampa could be a shootout because that Tampa offense, they like to throw the ball. Niners beat him last year. I think it happens again with McCaffrey back and I think Brock Purdy finds his groove and gets it going against the Bucks. So with that we can move to our must sits. [00:42:38] Speaker C: I'm gonna go with a name that might be very concerning, but he has been in our panic or pause. I'm gonna throw him in there because I just don't, I don't know. I feel like you shoot. I can't make up on mine. I'll just say it. [00:42:52] Speaker B: Just say it. [00:42:53] Speaker C: A must sit for me this week is Sam Laporta and that is only if you have a good backup tight end because he's playing the number one defense against tight ends this year, the Houston Texans. But he's just been so bad this year he has two weeks over double digits. Last week he scored 4.8. He's not getting the targets he should be getting. And a game against Houston who's good against tight ends and it's in Houston. I don't see him having a good game. [00:43:20] Speaker B: It's not looking good this year for LaPorta at all. Not sure what's up with him but down year for sure. Sophomore slump say that. [00:43:29] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll get a rookie slump here. It's Marvin Harrison Jr. I'll keep this one short and sweet. We talked about him earlier. 11.7 projected points this week. He gets Sauce Gardener in the New York Jets. I don't like it. I don't trust him. He could score 25 but he could score three and I don't want to take that risk this week against New York. The jets have been great against the pass and I think they'll continue to be great against the pass. Lean away from Marv this week, unfortunately it's time time to do so. [00:44:00] Speaker B: My first must sit. I'm going to go with Cooper cup versus The Miami Dolphins. I said it earlier when talking about Pukinakua. Miami ranks third in the NFL against the wide receiver position. Cups coming off of a great week. 1414 targets, 11 receptions, 100 yards, 21 points. He's been looking good but I think with Puka back we're actually going to see what those two look like on the field together. Since you know Puka hopefully will stop throwing punches against Miami though I think Puka gets a good amount of those receptions and I think Cooper cup has a rough outing much like he did against Arizona in Week two. So Sid Cooper Cup. It's a bold take because he's been very good this season. But I'm going to. I'm going to be bold this week. [00:44:48] Speaker C: I like it. I guess my next must sit. Let's see here. I'm going to go with a running back who we talked about a little bit in a panic or pause section or segment section Whatever you want to talk about a couple of weeks ago I believe it was and I know it's hard because the last two weeks he had over 20 carries both weeks. But I don't see Tony Pollard having a great week this week against that Chargers defense. Their front seven has been pretty good this year. It's also in LA and we just saw what that Chargers defense get again did against the Browns. Now yes, obviously the Browns offense isn't great but neither are the Tennessee. Neither is the Tennessee Titans offense. I don't like Pollard this week. He's been a flex. He's fallen down to a flex option mostly in all leagues this year unless it's like a 12, 14 man league. So you have a better option than Pollard this week in the flex. I would choose that other option. [00:45:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I've got. It's a guy you might not be able to turn away from just because of how short running backs are this year and how little there are that are seriously startable. But it's Javonte Williams this week. I hate to do it to my guy. Love Javante, but that Chiefs run defense is suffocating and the Broncos offensive line not going to open up enough holes for him to move. I'd expect the Broncos to be losing in this game on the road at Kansas City. Probably going to have to turn away from the run pretty early. They said they're going to get Audra estimate more involved as well, so we'll see what that looks like. But this isn't the week for Javante Williams, not against Kansas City at least. So I'll turn away from him in favor of maybe like a Bucky Irving, something like that. If you have them. [00:46:26] Speaker B: My next must sit Rough week last week and I think he's in for another rough week this week and that's a little man. Kyler Murray Call of Duty did just drop and we know when Call of Duty comes out. Kyler Murray does not play well and last week against Chicago, great secondary, 4.76 points in a game where they won by a lot. Very, very concerning. And this week they get the jets whose defense is very, very good, ranked fourth in the NFL against the quarterback position. I'm not liking Kyler this week. I think he's in for back to back duds. Then he goes into his bye, gets to play a little bit more, Call of duty and then Seattle the next week who hasn't been great. So not liking Kyler this week. If you got a good backup, go ahead and throw him in. Or if you're on waivers and maybe there's like a Russell Wilson sitting around, go ahead and pick him up. Not big on Kyler this week, but he's little. That's all I can say. He's a little guy, but I think that's all we got for you guys this week. Thank you all for tuning in to WVUA 90.7 FM Tuscaloosa student section Fantasy Sports. We'll see you guys next week. Peace.
