[00:00:00] Speaker A: Wvuafm tuscaloosa. [00:00:12] Speaker B: And we are back. You are listening to this student section, NFL on WVUA 90.7. Got a little thrown off there. It's been so long. Especially, like, we're back on air. And, yeah, we have a podcast. We're recording. Yeah. [00:00:24] Speaker A: So this will be. This will be documented, which is nice. [00:00:28] Speaker C: It actually happened. [00:00:29] Speaker B: It's been a crazy long time. But, hey, it's been a lot of news that we've. Well, we've been able to share it, but not go into as much detail as we would like. But, hey, we're back, and it's good to see all you guys back. I got my co host, Tanner Thompson. [00:00:42] Speaker A: What's up? [00:00:43] Speaker B: Connor rolls. Hello. [00:00:44] Speaker C: Hello. [00:00:44] Speaker B: And Evan Cisineres. Wait, Evan, I think I turned on the wrong mic for you. My bad. [00:00:49] Speaker A: Give him a chance. [00:00:50] Speaker B: Yeah. There we go. [00:00:51] Speaker A: What's up? There it is. He's back. [00:00:53] Speaker B: So we're all back. The gang's back together. And, you know, there's been a lot of off season moves going on. I know that we talked about it a little bit last week in some of the big signings, like Kirk Cousins, random Russell Wilson to the Steelers, Justin Fields. [00:01:04] Speaker C: We didn't talk about. [00:01:05] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, we didn't talk about Justin. [00:01:06] Speaker C: Because it didn't happen. [00:01:07] Speaker A: It was a backup quarterback trade. [00:01:09] Speaker C: Well, but he's a good backup quarterback. [00:01:11] Speaker A: I mean, honestly got me there. [00:01:15] Speaker C: You know, Nick foles on the Super Bowls are not going. Let's not anywhere near. [00:01:21] Speaker B: Okay. [00:01:22] Speaker A: I was gonna say. [00:01:22] Speaker B: But I will say I do like our Eagles backup moves. Speaking of Eagles backups, I don't. You don't like Kitty Pickett as the backup? [00:01:29] Speaker C: No. You know how I feel about small hands Kenny Pickett. [00:01:31] Speaker A: It. Small hands Kenny picket. [00:01:33] Speaker B: Honestly, I do want to see how Tanner McKee does this offseason. [00:01:36] Speaker C: Yeah, I do, too. I thought he was much better than Marcus Mariota. I think he's definitely better than Will Greer. We just will. [00:01:44] Speaker A: Carolina legend, by the way, for Carolina. [00:01:48] Speaker B: But with that all being said, we're going to start breaking down some of the more NFL draft rumors that are happening today. We did a mock draft a little bit, I want to say, like a month ago, if I'm probably mistaken, but. [00:01:59] Speaker A: That was an early mock draft. [00:02:00] Speaker C: Very early. [00:02:01] Speaker A: Real early. [00:02:02] Speaker B: But now with some of the, you know, not having the combine, the NFL draft combine, and some pro days at some of these schools, we've got a little bit more tips on insights of which way some of these teams might be leaning. [00:02:12] Speaker C: And then you know, free agency just. I don't say free agency is over because, of course, there's a ton of big names, except, you know, true. Davis White just went off the market, right. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams. [00:02:22] Speaker B: Big signing for them. [00:02:23] Speaker C: Big signing. Other than that, I mean, there's a lot of big names that are, yes, still available, but most of the big time free agents are off the board. [00:02:30] Speaker B: So what about Odell, Evan, your dolphins? [00:02:35] Speaker D: I mean, anything under like five mil, I wouldn't mind. [00:02:40] Speaker B: I don't think Connor's a fan. [00:02:41] Speaker C: Bring Odell and Jarvis Landry back to Miami. [00:02:44] Speaker A: Connor just gave one of the most. [00:02:45] Speaker D: Jarvis Landry back in Miami for bet minimum. [00:02:48] Speaker A: That was one of the most passive aggressive mhmms I've ever heard in my entire. [00:02:51] Speaker C: Odell just got to pick up the podcast and equipment. At this point, probably he would have. [00:02:58] Speaker D: Won Super Bowl MVP. [00:02:59] Speaker A: That's true. And I. Oh, no, no. [00:03:00] Speaker C: I agree. [00:03:01] Speaker A: His last season with the Rams was a really good, but then with the. [00:03:04] Speaker C: Ravens, he was non existent for most of the year. And then he had a nice couple catches every once in a while. [00:03:09] Speaker B: I mean, he's still winning off the field. I mean, you know, he just broke. [00:03:12] Speaker C: Up with Kim K. But after those wild comments. [00:03:15] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:03:15] Speaker A: That's a Devoke up with Kim K. Yeah, he was. They were dating. [00:03:21] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:03:21] Speaker B: Secret relationship. They didn't want anybody. [00:03:23] Speaker C: Then Kim K. Said something very, very weird. [00:03:26] Speaker B: We don't have to get in. [00:03:27] Speaker C: Yeah, this is an. [00:03:28] Speaker A: I did not know about any of this. [00:03:30] Speaker B: Like, I'm out of there. So w in my book for him. But other, some big names out there, I want to say, like, aren't we waiting to see, like, Justin Simmons, Justin Micah Hyde, Hasan Reddick, even though he's not, he's a, he's not a free agent, but, you know, you still want to trade him. [00:03:44] Speaker C: How Howie Roseman did come out and say that they think they will be able to resolve this as the time goes on. So we don't. I think he will end up being. [00:03:53] Speaker B: Moved, but as an Eagles fan, no, to no surprise, but I hope we extend them. You want to extend them? Yes, I want to kind of go younger. I kind of want to. I kind of want to get a second round pick out of them because that's what apparently we're trying to shot from. [00:04:09] Speaker C: Yeah, but then you also look at what some of these trades are going for there. I mean, Justin Fields, no market whatsoever. And then there was, there was one other player that was traded recently, Jerry Sneed. Legerious need. Yes. No market. You went for like, what, 30 and a fifth? Yeah, that's what it was. [00:04:27] Speaker A: Conor had no idea. Or Connor. Evan had no idea, which I didn't know. Yeah, I had no idea either. But the pressure that went on Evan just now was hilarious. [00:04:40] Speaker C: I said, they're gonna fit that. I look at Evan and he's a. [00:04:42] Speaker A: Oh, I don't know that much. [00:04:45] Speaker B: So should we might as well get started with the. Are we going to do the same rotation as we did last time? [00:04:50] Speaker C: I say let's switch it up a little bit. [00:04:51] Speaker B: Okay. How do we want to do it? [00:04:52] Speaker A: What was the order last time? [00:04:53] Speaker C: Cause it was 1234. [00:04:57] Speaker D: No, no, I think I had. [00:04:58] Speaker A: I think I was three. [00:05:00] Speaker C: No. [00:05:00] Speaker B: Cause Evan was over here last time. [00:05:01] Speaker C: No, Evan was two. Cause it was 1234 or whatever. But then, remember, Evan had to go to this room. They were like, we might as well just do it that way. So let's have Evan start first. [00:05:10] Speaker A: Okay. [00:05:10] Speaker C: Two, three, four. [00:05:11] Speaker B: That's fine. Yeah. Evan start with Chicago. Plus, I didn't want to be the number one pick again. Yeah, no one wants to be the. [00:05:17] Speaker A: Number one pick this year. All right, Evan, speaking of. [00:05:20] Speaker D: Also, it was just a third and 7th round pick swap for third and 7th. [00:05:26] Speaker A: You said it's a swap. No, third round. Third round pick and a 7th round pick swap on top. Gotcha. Okay. Gotcha, gotcha. All right. [00:05:32] Speaker D: So am I on the board also? [00:05:33] Speaker B: Loki, just real quick, before we get started, the Titans are making low key moves. [00:05:37] Speaker A: Absolutely. I agree. [00:05:38] Speaker C: I do agree. [00:05:38] Speaker B: If you're with Will Levis, you kind of be kind of. You have to be kind of happy with the moves they're making. Maybe we'll wait to see what they do with receiving wise. [00:05:44] Speaker A: Dude, if they can take a tackle. Not really, but they can take a good tackle. On the strap. Things are looking up. If they can get Joel, if they can get Faltanu, Fashanu, waga, too. Like, there are a lot of good players to walk away with in this draft. [00:05:57] Speaker B: All right, well, that being said, evan, you are up with the number one pick, Chicago Bears. Who will you pick? [00:06:03] Speaker D: All right, I'm gonna. Might be a shocker, a little curveball. Caleb Williams. [00:06:08] Speaker C: Wait, you're not gonna fade Kalen Williams because of his pink fingernails and his pink phone? Oh, my goodness. [00:06:15] Speaker A: That's not my starting quarterback anyway. I'm just kidding. We're all kidding. For the record. We're all kidding. [00:06:22] Speaker B: We're all big. Caleb Williams. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Yeah, it's hard not to be. [00:06:25] Speaker B: All right. With the second overall pick. Connor, are you on the clock? [00:06:28] Speaker C: Yes, I am. I'm gonna go. You know, there's been a lot of going back and forth. You know, JJ McCarthy just came out of nowhere, apparently with the odds. Well, not gonna go with him because. [00:06:39] Speaker B: I kind of said so. Watch out for JJ. [00:06:41] Speaker C: Yeah. Hey, if you can hand the football off a couple times a game, I guess you can be a top, top five pick. He's doing it, but I'm gonna go. Jaden Daniels. [00:06:54] Speaker A: Jaden Daniels at two. Interesting. [00:06:57] Speaker B: You know, there's been a lot interesting, a lot of smoke screens and a lot of news coming out of the Washington commander's camp. A lot of people are saying that they really want Drake made. Then one 1 second there, everyone's saying, oh, they really want Jaden Daniels. [00:07:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:07] Speaker B: Now everyone's saying they really want JJ McCarthy. I think personally, you're trying to get some, maybe some trade value for that second overall pick, but we'll see what direction they go in. I like the pick. Caleb Williams. Jaden down. Jaden Daniels are off the board. [00:07:22] Speaker A: Right, Tanner? [00:07:23] Speaker B: The New England Patriots. Which way are they leaning? [00:07:26] Speaker A: I'm not going to lie to you, man. If I'm the. From the New England Patriots, here I am. I'm pretty ecstatic with a pick, with that second pick being Jaden Daniels, 100%. I. Then again, notice I think jane yellow is a good player. I don't think that personally, I would draft him in the top five if I'm one of these teams. So personally, I think that with the Patriots, I think this makes this pick really easy. I'm taking Drake May, and I would be really excited about that because again, I hold Caleb Williams and Drake may to be as the one, one and two pretty confidently. So I'd be ecstatic to walk away with Drake maybe with the having the second pick. [00:08:05] Speaker B: All right. Drake May, very easy. Now. This is where it gets interesting. I'm the Arizona Cardinals. [00:08:13] Speaker A: This is the first weird pick. [00:08:15] Speaker B: Here I go. I'm trading, trading. Arizona Cardinals are going to make a trade. [00:08:20] Speaker A: Are you trading with one of us or yourself? [00:08:22] Speaker B: We're trading with myself, I guess. [00:08:24] Speaker A: Gotcha. [00:08:24] Speaker B: I'm going to be trading with the Minnesota Vikings. [00:08:26] Speaker A: There you go. Oh, boy. [00:08:28] Speaker B: At number four. Yep. [00:08:29] Speaker C: The Minnesota Vikings, let me guess, are moving on. [00:08:31] Speaker A: I know who it is to take. [00:08:32] Speaker B: Their franchise quarterback of the future, Michael Pennix. Surprise, everybody. Yeah. I'm going to go with, apparently this year's the golden boy. Jj McCarthy. [00:08:43] Speaker A: JJ McCarthy, Minnesota Viking. [00:08:46] Speaker C: All right. [00:08:47] Speaker A: At the four Quezzi, their GM has. [00:08:49] Speaker B: Been building picks over these last couple of drafts. Trading back and trading back, and now he finally gets to unload. He didn't. Maybe he was targeting Drake, May or Jaden Daniels. But, hey, you're not going to trade three first round picks for maybe a project that you're unsure of. Right. But maybe a proven winner, you will trade up and give up less. So that's why I have Minnesota Vikings coming up here to this pick. [00:09:10] Speaker A: There you go. [00:09:10] Speaker C: I think a very underrated move was the Vikings traded for. I can't remember what pick they traded for, but they ended up pick. Yeah, the 23rd. They made a. They made a trade to get into. [00:09:18] Speaker A: The first round, and that's one of. [00:09:19] Speaker B: The picks I have trading to help trade them up. [00:09:21] Speaker A: I got you. [00:09:22] Speaker C: And also, it'd be pretty funny if John Harbaugh came in as a Chargers head coach and was like, you know, this JJ McCarthy guy's really good. Let's y'all draft him. Let Marvin Harrison fall down. [00:09:35] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:09:37] Speaker A: All right, Evan, back to you, my friend. [00:09:40] Speaker C: The fifth overall pick. [00:09:43] Speaker D: I was thinking he was gonna take Marvin Harrison with the Cardinals, so I was ready to select Malik neighbors, but I'm still gonna go Malik neighbors because I wouldn't say he's more dynamic, but they need a playmaker in that, and I think he's just more, I guess, dynamic than Marvin Harrison. [00:10:06] Speaker C: Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait. [00:10:08] Speaker A: More dynamic than Marvin Harrison Junior? [00:10:10] Speaker C: Yeah, that's. [00:10:13] Speaker A: That is a. [00:10:14] Speaker C: That's the same. [00:10:14] Speaker A: I don't use this. I don't use these two words lightly, but that is a scorching hot. [00:10:18] Speaker B: I like that. Gorgeous. The last. [00:10:21] Speaker A: This may be. I mean, no, this. I mean, out of all, like, the narratives in this draft, I feel like the one that is the most consistent is Marvin Harrison Junior being the first wide receiver off the board. [00:10:31] Speaker C: Without a doubt. [00:10:32] Speaker A: Without it, like. Like, most of the time. But, I mean, as a New York. [00:10:36] Speaker C: Giants pick, I will gladly grab Marvin. [00:10:42] Speaker A: I am praying to God I am doing whatever, thanking whoever I need to for that. [00:10:48] Speaker C: But, hey, it's the Giants. They might go Bo Nicks after Daniel Jones failed him again. We don't know with that front office. But, hey, get your guy. Marvin Harrison. [00:10:58] Speaker A: Good lord. All right, so Marvin Harrison goes. Marvin Harrison goes to the Giants, which leaves the Titans. No offensive lineman taken. If I'm the Titans, I am ecstatic to be walking away with jolt here. Six eight, what, 300, 350 pounds? Maybe a little bit lighter, 330, something like that. Regardless. Six foot, 8300 pounds. Some of the best feet I've seen in a tackle prospect in a long time. Real honest. I think he's one of those guys you'd consider a blue chip. He's a phenomenal player. I'd be ecstatic as the Titans walk away with him. [00:11:31] Speaker C: And one thing I will say, anytime there's a prospect who, especially Oline. But, like, you have amazing, amazing measurements, amazing film, all that kind of stuff. If you come from Iowa, Nebraska or Notre Dame, you're guaranteed to hit. In my opinion, there's rarely been misses very, like. Yes. [00:11:49] Speaker A: Right. [00:11:50] Speaker C: If it's like LSU or something like that, then, you know, maybe worrisome. But Notre Dame, pretty solid. Pretty great. [00:11:57] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:57] Speaker B: Well, the Tennessee Titans get their future left tackle, or maybe right tackle, whatever the position they want to put them at. But the Atlanta Falcons are up on the clock, and I have another trade. [00:12:05] Speaker C: Another one? [00:12:06] Speaker A: Oh, boy. [00:12:07] Speaker B: The Atlanta Falcons are going to trade with Arizona cardinals. [00:12:10] Speaker A: Oh, wow. Okay, interesting. So the. So the Cardinals traded back and traded back up. [00:12:15] Speaker B: Yep. [00:12:16] Speaker A: Just like they did that last year, too. Right, right. Wow. [00:12:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:12:18] Speaker A: Predictable. [00:12:19] Speaker B: So I'm gonna go with this pick and pick. [00:12:21] Speaker A: Rome, Roma dunes. That is three wide Arizona cardinals. So does that mean we're seeing. So we saw. Soon we saw McCarthy to the Vikings at four. [00:12:34] Speaker B: Right. [00:12:35] Speaker A: Then we saw, after that we had the Chargers, which, who took Malik? Neighbors. And then we had giants go Marvin Harrison. Giants go Marvin Harrison. And now we were seeing Romo doons a go. [00:12:46] Speaker B: Yes. [00:12:47] Speaker A: That's wild. Or, excuse me, Joe Walt. Then Romo dunes. A. But wow, that's. A wide receiver's gone quick. [00:12:54] Speaker B: I think it. [00:12:55] Speaker A: Very fast. [00:12:55] Speaker B: I think it's going to be kind of similar to that one year, that crystal lava draft where everyone was trying to move up for a wide receiver. [00:13:01] Speaker A: Right. Because they took. Cause who was the first one off the board? [00:13:04] Speaker D: It was the Falcons. [00:13:06] Speaker C: It was Drake London. It was Drake London first it was Drake London. And that just started to slide. [00:13:10] Speaker A: And again, because no one really, not many people had Drake London as wide receiver. One, too. So the fact that they took him that high was crazy. [00:13:15] Speaker B: But, and I think we might be something, seeing something similar. I think a lot of these first round wide receivers are like day one guys. [00:13:22] Speaker A: They truly, I mean, they are all so good. Like, seriously, you really. I really don't think you can go wrong. Maybe you can go wrong taking Malik neighbors over Marvin Harrison Junior. But that's the only. But that's. [00:13:32] Speaker C: That's a charter thing. You do. [00:13:34] Speaker A: Even the Chargers have Quinton Johnson, all. [00:13:37] Speaker D: These big, deep threats, all these, like. [00:13:40] Speaker A: Who'S their big who's the big deep threat? [00:13:41] Speaker B: Who's there? [00:13:42] Speaker C: Why did you. [00:13:42] Speaker D: Mike Williams and Queen. [00:13:46] Speaker A: Mike Williams is a jet. [00:13:47] Speaker D: That's what I'm saying. They've had that and they didn't do too much with it. Their best player was Keenan Allen, and he was. He's gone now. He was their playmaker, route runner. [00:13:57] Speaker B: And plus, I'm the Chargers. I would be kind of skeptical about all the injury history that surrounds this team. And if you draft a prospect like Marvin Harrison, who has had a tendency to get injured. But I'm not looking at it. But I'm just saying, like, maybe that is one thing they're looking at. If they do, do you intend to take the LSU wide receiver? [00:14:19] Speaker C: We do know this. Chargers doctors are not the greatest because Tyrod Taylor punctured his lung because of the doctor. [00:14:25] Speaker A: That's how Justin Herbert got Justin Herbert on the field. To be fair, they could be really good at their job. I'm just saying. Yeah. [00:14:34] Speaker C: All right, Evan. [00:14:35] Speaker B: All right, Evan, you're back up with the Chicago Bears. [00:14:39] Speaker A: Chicago at nine. All right. [00:14:41] Speaker D: I wanted to take O'Donne in that pick, and they already got their tight end, so I can't take Brock Bowers. I'm just gonna go Dallas Turner. [00:14:49] Speaker C: Dallas Turner. [00:14:50] Speaker A: Fair enough. I like that. They could use another guy opposite. Sweat, sweat, sweat. [00:14:55] Speaker C: And Turner would be very nasty. [00:14:58] Speaker A: Yeah, I'd be excited about that. You know, jets, this is an easy pick. [00:15:01] Speaker C: Oh, I think it's very easy. [00:15:04] Speaker A: Yeah. This guy's having great drafts. [00:15:07] Speaker C: They got their wide receiver settled. You know, they destroyed free agency in the O line department with Tyron Smith and Moses. Moses Brown, is it? [00:15:18] Speaker B: You talking about the right tackle? Yeah, I think so. [00:15:20] Speaker C: Yeah. From the Ravens? Yeah, they killed it. You know, all they really could use is a tight end. And Brock Bowers is still on the board. [00:15:27] Speaker A: Yep. [00:15:28] Speaker C: So why not just grab him if we. [00:15:30] Speaker A: I will say I've been talking about Brock Bowers to the jets for a very long time. If rock powers does become a jet, that would be a game changing thing for that offense. Man, he would key in so well. Yeah, but. All right, Tanner, that leaves me with the Minnesota Vikings at eleven. [00:15:47] Speaker B: Well, no, they traded that pick. So now you have the other trade. [00:15:50] Speaker A: Of the 11th pick. I have the Falcons at eleven. [00:15:52] Speaker B: Before you make that decision, I'll give you some time because we're going to head to break. And when you come back, we're going to see what direction the Atlanta Falcons are headed. You are listening to the student section. NFL on 90.7. [00:16:13] Speaker A: WVUAFm Tuscaloosa. [00:16:24] Speaker B: And we are back. You are listening to the student section NFL on WVUA 90.7, the capstone. You know, we're doing our mock draft and you know, we've made some interesting picks so far. So before we get into Tanner being the GM of the Atlanta Falcons with the 11th overall pick, let's do a recap of how we got there, shall we? Sorry, I have my notes. [00:16:44] Speaker A: Behind Jalen's only one who actually knows what's happened so far, so he has to be the one to say it. [00:16:49] Speaker B: Well, I'm the only one who's made trades, so I kind of started the chaos a little bit. So that's my fault. But of course, number one pick, we have Caleb Williams followed by commanders Jaden Daniels, then the Patriots selecting Drake May then this is where it gets kind of funky. We have the Minnesota Vikings trading the 11th and in my mind the 23rd overall pick to get the fourth overall pick from the Arizona Cardinals who moved down to 11th overall. But with that fourth overall pick, Minnesota Vikings draft franchise quarterback and JJ McCarthy. And then shortly after re signed Justin Jefferson to the biggest extension ever in history. [00:17:20] Speaker C: But thank you for clarifying. [00:17:23] Speaker B: And then after that we have the Chargers absolutely reaching with a wild take. And then. But hey, Harbaugh has a plan. [00:17:32] Speaker A: Don't question Harbaugh has a plan. The question is if Cisneros has a plan. [00:17:38] Speaker B: But anyway, hey, we got LSU receiver neighbors going to the Chargers and then we got the Giants getting on their knees and thanking the Lord for Marvin arriving the Big Apple. And then followed by that we have the Tennessee Titans to get their left tackle so will Levis can stop going on IR every season. Joe Alt and then we, then we're back here to the Falcons originally would have had this pick, but hey, the Falcons decide we can trade back a little bit and get our guy. So the Falcons are going to trade back with the Arizona, Arizona Cardinals who got that 11th pick from the Vikings and they jumped the Chicago Bears to get their wide receiver of the future, Rome adounse from Washington. Then Chicago forced to pivot to defense. Tanner, you made the move of pairing Montess sweat with Dallas Turner. I like that move. Connor. Sorry, you didn't need my. No, it's. I'm not sure. [00:18:32] Speaker A: I can't remember if I made the pick or not. [00:18:33] Speaker D: I think I made Dallas. [00:18:34] Speaker B: Oh, I'm sorry. [00:18:35] Speaker A: It's okay. [00:18:37] Speaker B: Great move though, by the way. Thank you. You got a easy pick once again. [00:18:42] Speaker C: Brock Bowers. [00:18:43] Speaker B: Brock Bowers going to the jets, which Tanner, as you said, kind of called earlier in the season, so. [00:18:47] Speaker A: Sure did. [00:18:47] Speaker B: And then now we are here. Tanner, you have the 11th overall pick as the Atlanta Falcons. [00:18:52] Speaker A: I do. With this one. I personally feel pretty good about this pick. I don't know how, you know, this position group is, it's not very consistently ranked. I guess there's not a clear one, clear two most of the time. But this guy, in my opinion, is very close to, very close to Dallas Turner, in my opinion. I think a better plug in player right now, and that's gonna be laid out a lot, too. [00:19:18] Speaker C: Whoa. [00:19:19] Speaker A: Going to the Falcons at eleven, I like to, is the best hands of any edge in this class. I think he's a very smooth athlete. His footwork's great. He's not quite the .01% athlete that like Dallas Turner is. But even then, I still think you're the Falcons. The fat the Falcons now find themselves with a, you know, old vet quarterback. [00:19:43] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:19:43] Speaker A: Kirk Cousins, who I truly believe. I think he's a great quarterback. But they're not in the same situation as they were before, where they were kind of in this weird middle ground area of we didn't know if we could build a team off of what we had or not. And, but now they have their quarterback, they have their skill guys. The defense is solid and, and they have been needing pass rush forever for so, so long. And I think, Lydia, lots of will being will bring a immediate impact to them. More than, in my opinion, more than Jared verse confidently. Again, I think Jared verse might be a better athlete, but I think that ladle lots who's just a better edge defender. [00:20:15] Speaker C: That's why I was surprised. I thought Jared Veras would go before Lotsu. [00:20:20] Speaker A: And I like, I kind of get it. And that's why I say it's a weird pick because that this specific position group, like, I think in terms of mocks, you've seen, you've seen Dallas Turner go high pretty consistently. But in my opinion, I think that he's not quite as skilled as, as Lyda lots who is. And so that's why I think that if you're the Falcons, I think you want a guy who's going to make more of an immediate impact. And I think that's a lot, too. [00:20:43] Speaker B: Okay. All right, Jalen, I like that pick. And, hey, I think, like you said, the only thing really about him was he had a little bit of injury concern as well. [00:20:49] Speaker A: It's been two years, though, I think since he's had that injury and he was one of the most productive edge defenders in college this past year. Again, he is also an older prospect. [00:20:58] Speaker B: But he reminds me of a little bit, like, Jalen Phillips. His story coming out. [00:21:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, this one's interesting. I had the Denver Broncos, and honestly, they could. [00:21:07] Speaker C: Let me guess. Are they trading? [00:21:08] Speaker B: No, they're not. I think they should stick here and take whatever. They're probably gonna blow it, but I think they should take a picture. Now, this is where it gets interesting. Everything I know. I really don't know where they go. Here. [00:21:23] Speaker A: I have a weird pick for them, but it's not my pick. [00:21:26] Speaker B: You say what? [00:21:26] Speaker A: I have a weird pick for them, but I'm gonna let you make yours first. [00:21:29] Speaker B: Honestly, I just don't feel like they're gonna. I feel like they're just not gonna. Like, I feel like they're going to take a quarterback, but obviously. [00:21:38] Speaker A: But I don't know which one. [00:21:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I just don't know when and where. And that's the biggest problem. [00:21:43] Speaker A: Right. [00:21:43] Speaker B: I think they have so many, like, positions they could fix up on defense because I think, like, a Sean Payton team, he definitely wants his quarterback, but, like, the defense is also what he prides himself on. So I kind of want to take Jared verse here, but also, I just think the Broncos move here, like, you know, their history. Paxton lynch and, like, drew Locke. I'm going to go with Bo Nicks. [00:22:05] Speaker A: There you go. That was my weird pick. I'm glad you made it. I'm glad you made it. They've been tied to bone x a little bit, and I don't know. I mean, Bonex to his credit was. I mean, statistically, man, that guy had an unreal season. And I think maybe for all of us, that our vision is a little bit skewed of Bo Nicks because of his time in Auburn, how familiar we are with his. With his game, I guess. But I think. I do think it improves significantly at Oregon. I think he's one of the best first read guys in terms of, like, pre snap reads. And we know Sean Payton loves that. We want Sean. Sean Payton wants him to drop back and get the ball out. And I think John Payton's okay with him dropping back. Three's not there. Then he goes and gets what yards he can. But, yeah, man, I think. I think that's a. I think it's a very fun pick. [00:22:49] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna. I agree with you. I'm really interested to see what the Broncos do, but like we said, they. They could go in any direction so that being said, the Oakland Raiders. Evan, you're back on Raiders. [00:23:00] Speaker D: I know I've got a Raiders fan, so I got some inside info, I guess. But they're going to be sad not to be able to take a quarterback. But all these top cornerbacks are still on the table. They could go Quinyon, Nate Wiggins, but I think they want a league ready leader. They're going to pick Tarry on Arnold. [00:23:23] Speaker C: Alrighty, fair enough. [00:23:24] Speaker B: I like that pick. [00:23:25] Speaker C: You know, the Saints are in a weird position because it's. [00:23:30] Speaker A: Man, feels like the Saints are always in a weird position. [00:23:33] Speaker C: They always are. And they always whiff on picks. I think the best thing you do is just trade back at this point. [00:23:39] Speaker B: Well, they always whiff on picks, but they also find some late round studs that just turn yes. [00:23:44] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna have them trading back, and I'm gonna have the Jacksonville Jaguars. [00:23:51] Speaker B: Were you the Raiders? [00:23:52] Speaker C: No, they're saying, I have the same trading back. And the Jacksonville Jaguars moving up to get their guy. Queen yawn. Mitchell. They need a corner. I don't. I don't think. Really? [00:24:01] Speaker B: Wait, wait. [00:24:02] Speaker D: To the Jaguars? Yeah, that's me. [00:24:05] Speaker C: No, you're the Raiders. [00:24:07] Speaker A: You sent the next pick back. [00:24:09] Speaker D: Yeah, I think I'm also the Jaguars. [00:24:11] Speaker B: No, no, we're not doing like. [00:24:12] Speaker C: Yeah, we're not doing that. [00:24:15] Speaker A: So you're no longer the Jaguars, and there's nothing you can do about it. [00:24:18] Speaker C: You are now the Saints. [00:24:19] Speaker A: That's the precedent we've set so far. You are now the Saints. [00:24:23] Speaker B: You're waltzing out the Jags, and you said the Jags are taking who again? [00:24:26] Speaker C: Quinon Mitchell, cornerback out of Toledo. [00:24:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:29] Speaker B: Okay. I thought you said quarterback. We're cornerback, yes. [00:24:32] Speaker C: Corner. [00:24:32] Speaker A: Don't think Quinyan Mitchell is a quarterback. [00:24:34] Speaker B: I was about to say. All right, well, I like that. Picking, like, hey, I like all your guys's picks so far. I think this is actually a really fun draft, and I think there's, like, some way that some of these teams can go these routes. Quinnian Mitchell. Tell me, why do you think, like, the Jags would want to trade up? Because I'm kind of curious. I think they will trade up if they, like, have a guy as they've done in the past. But what separates him from, like, a Cooper de Jean? [00:24:56] Speaker C: Well, so Cooper Degene. It's just when he played, he played in the big Ten west, which, I mean, can y'all name a receiver to come out of the big ten west or had an elite offense? So I think it's just something where the speed I don't think is there fully. And we seen Quinon Mitchell play or test the combine and the speed was elite. I just think he's a better fit for an NFL corner when part of me thinks Cooper Degene will be moved to a box safety or depending on strong safety. [00:25:27] Speaker B: Yeah, like a Harrison Smith. [00:25:28] Speaker C: Yeah, something like that. Or like a reed blanket ship. I just think for a straight up corner, who you need to be able to lock in, which the Jaguars were not able to have last year because they were just getting torched left and right. I think getting up and getting the guy that you want who can, I don't want to say locked down the side of the field, but has a promising future and a guy that can do it all, play slot, play outside. I think it's a good pick for Jacksonville. [00:25:53] Speaker B: Well, now you just created an interesting problem for Tanner and the Colts. The Colts just missed out on the legerious needs sweepstakes, you know, losing that battle to the Tennessee Titans. So now the Colts in need of a cornerback. Who are you going with, Tanner? [00:26:06] Speaker A: I'm. It's funny because the Colts need a quarterback cornerback, but really, the only cornerback, the only cornerback archetype I don't want to take is the slot guy, which is what who you're taking. If you were to go with Cooper de Jean, who I do think is a really good player, but based off of the roster for this team, I think that it has to be Nate Wiggins. [00:26:25] Speaker B: Nate Wiggins. [00:26:26] Speaker A: I again, I think you get a lot of benefit from taking a truly hot top end speed corner. We've seen happen a lot of times. [00:26:34] Speaker B: 4.2 something. [00:26:35] Speaker A: 4.29, I believe. And again, that's legit speed in a game that's only getting faster. And I would love for him to be a little bit better, you know, a little bit bigger around, I guess. But he has. He's got incredible makeup speed. I think he can be a really good player, undoubtedly. And I think you can be pretty happy walking away with Nate Wiggins at 15. But, yeah, that's kind of the pick that has to be made, I guess. [00:27:03] Speaker B: Okay, I like it. I'm gonna go well, I'm guess I'm back up and I'm gonna see how Seahawks. And there's a lot of interesting, you know, directions this could go in. Honestly, I just think of the best. I do think they're gonna probably go for some o line help, especially now with some coordinator coming over from Baltimore. So I'm gonna go with a guard from Washington who's semi close to the area and can play center and guard. So give me Troy Fatu. Not to. [00:27:34] Speaker C: You know who the offensive coordinator is for the Seahawks, correct? Ryan Grubb, former Washington. Is that. I think he said baltimore. [00:27:44] Speaker B: Well, I'm saying the head coach now. [00:27:46] Speaker C: Oh, head coach. Never mind. My bad guys. [00:27:49] Speaker A: My bad guys. [00:27:51] Speaker C: I was just, you know, Washington. Washington connection. It makes sense. [00:27:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I think hometown picking, I think that's the way to go. Now, Evan, you're on the clock, and I have a guy that I think would be perfect for this team. Since you are now the Saints. [00:28:03] Speaker D: I think I got one, too. Their offensive line is in complete dismay with the Trevor penning pick a couple years ago set in the back a little. I think they're going to make up for it with what some might consider the top o tackle in the draft. Olamoya fashion. [00:28:20] Speaker A: Yep. Very good. [00:28:21] Speaker C: All right. Now, Cincinnati. [00:28:26] Speaker B: I'm really curious to see where you guys have Jared verse. Fallen. [00:28:29] Speaker A: He's fallen, man. [00:28:31] Speaker C: Yeah, I wouldn't think he would fall this far, but he is falling. [00:28:33] Speaker A: He's definitely fallen. [00:28:34] Speaker C: Now, I do think with the Cincinnati Bengals, you could go Oline, but losing DJ reader was pretty big in my opinion. [00:28:44] Speaker A: Mmm. [00:28:46] Speaker C: You know, I know it might be a little bit of a reach to get him this early, but part of me feels like the Eagles are going to trade up and get their guy, Jared verse. [00:28:58] Speaker A: Wow, that's crazy. [00:29:01] Speaker C: And since Cincinnati will move back to the 22nd overall pick, you know how Howie Roseman loves his edge guys, with Hassan Reddick most likely out the door and go ahead and get your edge. [00:29:11] Speaker B: I didn't see that coming. [00:29:12] Speaker A: Fair enough. I did not either. [00:29:14] Speaker B: That's a Howie Roseman move. [00:29:15] Speaker C: It is a Howie Rose. [00:29:17] Speaker A: Is that guy ever taking a player that wasn't a offensive or defensive lineman first round? No, I don't think he ever has. [00:29:24] Speaker C: Devontae Smith. Other than that. [00:29:26] Speaker B: Now, I think the last time we had a full, like, defensive draft or draft on the deep, like, wasn't it like 2003? I think they said like 2005. [00:29:33] Speaker A: Wow. [00:29:34] Speaker C: It was something around there. [00:29:35] Speaker A: Sad one. Like three years ago. [00:29:37] Speaker B: See, we're just. We're stuck to our ways. [00:29:39] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:29:40] Speaker B: The trenches, baby. Yeah, it worked, but it worked. Bengals. So they're off the board now. The Eagles, Jared verse. And now we are back onto the Los Angeles, Los Angeles Rams. Some of the biggest things I guess we should probably mention is that the probably Aaron, like, the greatest defensive player of all time, just retired Aaron. [00:29:58] Speaker A: Aaron Donald. Yes. [00:29:58] Speaker B: Aaron Donald just retired, so I think that's going to make their decision a lot more easier, especially now that you had just mentioned earlier that the cornerback from the bills is making their way. True. [00:30:08] Speaker C: Davis White. [00:30:08] Speaker A: Right. [00:30:09] Speaker B: He's going to be making his way over to the LA. So I don't think they're going to target a cornerback, which I initially thought maybe. I also thought maybe they go offensive line, but you got to replace the trenches, as we just talked about. I'm going with Byron Murphy from Texas. [00:30:24] Speaker A: Hell, yeah. I'm gonna. In that case, I'm gonna be the Pittsburgh Steelers for the next pick. Wait, now you made your pick, man. I'm gonna let you do it. I'm just gonna let you roll. Who'd you take again as the Rams? [00:30:39] Speaker B: My bad. [00:30:40] Speaker C: Byron Murphy. [00:30:41] Speaker A: Byron Murphy. [00:30:41] Speaker B: Wait, who are you gonna take for the Rams? [00:30:43] Speaker A: I was considering Cooper de Gene orchards on Newton. Okay, well, the picks been made, man. I'd almost rather pick for the Steelers, so I'm happy to have you take that ramp. [00:30:55] Speaker C: Now, don't forget, the Steelers did just sign speedy wide receiver Quez Watkins. [00:31:00] Speaker B: So game changer. [00:31:01] Speaker A: It all goes back to the. [00:31:02] Speaker C: Don't let that deter your picks. [00:31:04] Speaker B: Russell Wilson, very short. [00:31:06] Speaker A: Moon ball, very short. That's funny. All right. I now control the Steelers. I. I'm a little apprehensive on this one. I do really like the way that. That Cooper Jean fits into that defense. I. I do think, obviously, they have one of the better slot guys in the league in Minka Fitzpatrick. I just. I really do like the versatility that Cooper Degene offers, and I think maybe you could. I think he might be a little bit more physical in that area than Minka Fitzpatrick. But then again, it seems like the Steelers always need offensive linemen. And I really like Tyl Foaga, the Oregon state guy, but also JC Latham, who I think is such a good player, I probably have him over Foaga in terms of my personal tackle rankings. [00:32:06] Speaker B: I think Evan took JC Latham with the Saints. No. [00:32:09] Speaker C: No. [00:32:09] Speaker B: Oh, who'd you take? [00:32:10] Speaker D: Olamoyo fashion, who I would have taken. [00:32:13] Speaker A: Here if he was available. But with that being said, man, I'm gonna. I really want to pick Digimi, but I'm not going to. I'm gonna make. I think I'm gonna make the somewhat smarter pick. And I'm go with Latham. Latham's gonna plug in really well as a run blocker, and they've got Arthur Smith over there. Now, I think Latham again, as a run blocker, just his power unreal. I think it's better, probably better than every other tackle in this class, but. But, yeah, that's my. My pick. [00:32:41] Speaker B: I don't think that's a bad pick, because, hey, pro day was just here at Alabama, and who did we see checking out? JT Latham, Mike Tomlin. So we'll be back. You're listening to the student section on NFL on WVA 90.7 caps down. [00:33:07] Speaker A: WVUA FM, Tuscaloosa. [00:33:20] Speaker B: All right, we are back, and I definitely turn your guys mic on way, or at least. [00:33:24] Speaker A: No, man, I kind of like it because it. It's the, like, heroes just kind of chopping it up as we go into it, you know what I mean? [00:33:30] Speaker B: Yeah, I've been getting hype. [00:33:32] Speaker C: No, no. [00:33:33] Speaker D: Trade alert. [00:33:34] Speaker A: Huh? [00:33:35] Speaker B: You have a trade alert. [00:33:35] Speaker A: Trade alert. [00:33:36] Speaker B: Alert. [00:33:36] Speaker A: Oh, boy. [00:33:37] Speaker C: What was that sound? Wait, Evans, can you read you the sound? Uh huh. [00:33:41] Speaker A: Maybe off key a little bit, but it's okay. [00:33:44] Speaker D: Miami dolphins are trading the 21st pick to the Detroit Lions for the 29th pick. And something else in something else with that pick. [00:33:54] Speaker B: Wait. I'm so confused. Is this real life or the mock draft? [00:33:57] Speaker A: No. All right, Evan, wait. [00:34:07] Speaker C: Okay, the lions have this pick. [00:34:09] Speaker D: All right, so the lion have this pick. They are bunny hopping the Green Bay packers to take Cooper de Jean. [00:34:16] Speaker A: There you go. [00:34:17] Speaker C: Okay, they lose cam Sutton for reasons we will not explain on the show. But I like the pick. [00:34:24] Speaker B: I'm still getting caught up. [00:34:24] Speaker A: I'm still working on it. [00:34:27] Speaker B: I guess I did that to you guys earlier, so this is only fair. [00:34:30] Speaker A: So 1 second. [00:34:31] Speaker B: So cooper degene's going to detroit. [00:34:33] Speaker C: Yes. [00:34:34] Speaker A: Yes. [00:34:34] Speaker B: Okay, well, I like that, you know. [00:34:36] Speaker C: Lose chauncey gardner, lose cam sutton. [00:34:37] Speaker B: Lose cam sutton. Reasons we won't say, but you get. [00:34:41] Speaker A: A pretty versatile guy, too. And cooper, you, regime plugs into a defense pretty well. Great move. [00:34:46] Speaker B: I like that. And then right here, we have the bengals, correct? [00:34:47] Speaker C: Yes, we do have the bengals, and, you know, they needed their guy. Wait, what's their cornerback situation looking like? It's not great, is it? [00:34:57] Speaker A: No, it's not for the bengals. Yeah, I can't remember his name. [00:35:02] Speaker B: You got gino stone. [00:35:03] Speaker C: If you can't remember his name, it's not a good quarterback situation. Give me kool aid, mckinstry. [00:35:08] Speaker A: There you go. [00:35:08] Speaker B: Interesting. I didn't mean to, like, didn't like. [00:35:12] Speaker A: The pick at all. [00:35:14] Speaker C: I was gonna go byron murphy, but you said, interesting. [00:35:18] Speaker B: I meant it like, oh, kool aid in cincinnati. [00:35:22] Speaker A: Like, that's funny. [00:35:23] Speaker B: I just feel like they don't even have kool aid in cincinnati. [00:35:26] Speaker C: All right, tanner, it's your turn. [00:35:27] Speaker A: So can we. Can you remind me who's picking at 23? [00:35:30] Speaker B: So right now, at 23, we have the Arizona Cardinals. Because they, remember, traded with the Vikings. [00:35:36] Speaker A: Right. [00:35:37] Speaker D: I thought it was the Falcons. The Cardinals traded the eleven and 23 to get the eight. [00:35:43] Speaker A: I'm picking it at 23 right now. [00:35:44] Speaker B: Yeah, but the Falcons traded a second day pick to help. Okay. [00:35:49] Speaker A: So ended up giving them that 23rd. [00:35:51] Speaker B: So then. [00:35:51] Speaker A: Yeah. So that means that leaves the. Which team at 23? The Cardinals at 23. Fantastic. The Cardinals sitting at 23. [00:36:01] Speaker C: Welcome to our mock draft, guys. [00:36:03] Speaker A: This is one of the mock drafts of all time. Man I. From the Cardinals. Man. Again, there's still. I think there's still so much to be done with that team. There's still good players available. I would probably go, could they use interior o line? I feel like they probably could. [00:36:27] Speaker C: I feel like you all o line probably. [00:36:29] Speaker A: And I'm a big fan of JPJ, of Jackson powers Johnson. [00:36:33] Speaker B: Didn't they lose their left tackle? [00:36:34] Speaker C: Who? [00:36:35] Speaker B: The Cardinals. [00:36:37] Speaker C: But who? [00:36:37] Speaker A: I'm not sure. [00:36:39] Speaker C: I know Parrish Johnson's a bright spot for them. Other than that. [00:36:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:42] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:43] Speaker A: I I'm going offensive line. I'm a little bit torn on whether I want to do. Is Fuaga still on the board? [00:36:51] Speaker D: Tell you, swagger. [00:36:52] Speaker A: Yes. Oregon state. Okay. Just making sure I'm between him and mims. I believe mims is just such an athletic freak. It's tough to. They also kind of did that with Paris Johnson. I think fogga could plug in a little bit more on the line. If you had injuries, you had a guys that you didn't really know where you wanted to put them. I I think I'm gonna go with. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go tell you. Oregon state tackle. I'm a big fan of this game. And again, I think they're in a position to where I think if you're in any team like the Cardinals, who they just really aren't winning that many games, you should probably start with the offensive line, get that together, then the defensive line, and work out from there. That's just kind of my philosophy, and I think they do that with, with police. Foaga. [00:37:35] Speaker C: About time he goes off the board. [00:37:37] Speaker A: Yeah, he was on there for a while. He's. This is really good value, in my opinion, for him, but interesting. [00:37:43] Speaker C: Thanks. All right. [00:37:44] Speaker B: All right. Thanks. [00:37:45] Speaker A: Jalen Pick. [00:37:45] Speaker B: This time, I actually didn't make another pick. I waited like I went around. Um. [00:37:51] Speaker C: Uh huh. Yeah. [00:37:54] Speaker B: All right. So I guess I'm back on the clock and I'm the Dallas Cowboys. [00:37:57] Speaker C: You are. [00:37:58] Speaker B: You know, it's a lot of interesting. I think they're probably going to go o line, but I really want to make a Cowboys pick and just kind of make a funny pick for triathy out of left field a little bit, but not too far out of left field. [00:38:09] Speaker A: Wonder why you would do that. [00:38:09] Speaker C: Like Mozzie Smith left field kind of. [00:38:12] Speaker A: But like, I wonder why you would give the Cowboys out of left field draft pick. [00:38:17] Speaker B: I just. [00:38:17] Speaker C: Well, cause they do that. They drafted Mozzie Smith last year. Over ton of great guys. [00:38:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:22] Speaker B: Like, I really would just think be funny if I got, like, got chap Robinson for the Cowboys. [00:38:28] Speaker A: Chop Robinson. [00:38:29] Speaker B: Just because the Penn State connection. Yeah, that's like the Cowboys pick, but I don't necessarily know or think they need chop Robinson, but hey, Layton Vander ash. Right. [00:38:39] Speaker C: He just retired. [00:38:40] Speaker B: Right. Because the neck injury. They can't make a lot of, you know, additions from free agency. [00:38:45] Speaker C: They got Eric Kendricks. [00:38:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:47] Speaker A: But I guess, no disrespect, but I'm. [00:38:53] Speaker B: Sorry, but you know what? I kind of want to go with Peyton Willis without it. [00:38:56] Speaker A: You're just a real stretch Peyton Wilson, man. [00:38:59] Speaker B: I know, but that would be nice for your Carolina panthers. Yeah, but let's keep it simple. Tyler Gutten, we're gonna stick to the O line. [00:39:06] Speaker C: All right. [00:39:08] Speaker B: I was, I almost got baited. [00:39:10] Speaker A: I almost got baited, but I over, over Mary Simms. You like him better. [00:39:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:39:15] Speaker A: Fair enough. [00:39:16] Speaker B: No explanation. [00:39:17] Speaker A: Okay. [00:39:17] Speaker B: Yes. [00:39:18] Speaker C: All right, Evan, something for a little. [00:39:19] Speaker A: Bit maybe, but it's okay. [00:39:21] Speaker C: The Greenway packers are on the board. [00:39:23] Speaker D: Mario Smith. [00:39:24] Speaker C: Oh, Mario. [00:39:25] Speaker A: Okay, fair enough. Squick. Yeah, it's a good pick. [00:39:28] Speaker B: Interest. [00:39:29] Speaker C: All right, Tampa Bay buccaneers. Try to think. Does anybody really want to trade up for anything? [00:39:34] Speaker A: No, no. [00:39:36] Speaker C: Tampa Bay is sitting kind of nice, I would say. Who was their center because I know they lost Jensen and they didn't really have a great center last year. [00:39:44] Speaker B: Well, that's why there's a great pick for this. [00:39:47] Speaker C: That's what I'm thinking. [00:39:48] Speaker A: I mean, the guy who's far and. [00:39:49] Speaker C: Away the best, Jackson power Johnson, I feel like. [00:39:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:39:52] Speaker C: Falls in pretty great right here. Give me a JPJ out of Oregon. [00:39:58] Speaker B: I like it. I'll try. You know, write this down. [00:40:03] Speaker C: It's Sanders fake. [00:40:04] Speaker A: Yeah. I'm picking again the Vikings. What are the Cardinals of 27? Yeah, that's what I thought. [00:40:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:40:13] Speaker A: This pick was unrelated to the trip. [00:40:14] Speaker C: Yeah, I believe. [00:40:15] Speaker A: Okay, so, yeah, we have the Cardinals. It's at 27, I think I can't. Honestly, can't not. Can't believe he's fallen this far. But I'm such a big jaw Newton fan. I'm gonna take him here. I love his game. He just wins every rep. It's kind of unbelievable to watch. I. Yeah. And I think you can't go wrong with defensive line with the Cardinals. I think they're definitely lacking there. Yeah, he's pretty easy pick. Not. Don't have to explain too much. [00:40:48] Speaker B: I have the Buffalo bills. [00:40:49] Speaker C: You do? [00:40:50] Speaker A: He seems so hesitant to make this. [00:40:52] Speaker B: Give me that deep threat for Josh Allen. Xavier worthy. [00:40:55] Speaker A: No. Xavier worthy. No. Brian Thomas Junior. Stolen, by the way. [00:41:00] Speaker D: Dang it. [00:41:02] Speaker A: I'm always gonna make the 33rd pick, by the way. [00:41:04] Speaker B: So that's fine. [00:41:05] Speaker A: Just so everyone knows. Okay, that will be happening. [00:41:07] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:41:07] Speaker B: Okay, I got you. Oh, wait, the Panthers. So that makes sense. [00:41:10] Speaker C: Exactly. [00:41:10] Speaker B: Yeah. But, yeah, I'm going with a deep threat for Josh Allen. Hey, they lost Gabe Davis. You know, stephon Diggs is unhappy doing his little pouting thing that he does every offseason, so we don't know where he is. [00:41:20] Speaker C: Asking for attention. [00:41:21] Speaker B: Yep. Yeah, he seems lonely. I don't know. [00:41:23] Speaker A: He disappears in the post season and near the post season and then is all sad. Why he can't be looked after. [00:41:31] Speaker B: And he's probably. And, like, you know, there's so many things during the season I was just weird about, like, their whole, like, interaction. Like, remember that press conference when the mics were turned on? [00:41:39] Speaker A: Yes. [00:41:40] Speaker C: Yes. [00:41:41] Speaker A: Yeah. She didn't said something bad about him. I can't remember what. [00:41:44] Speaker B: But you're just saying he's not the greatest person, but pretty much just a weird thing. But, yeah, I'm gonna go number 28, Buffalo bills. Xavier worthy. Give Josh Allen that speed and. Yeah. So the Detroit Lions, you traded up. [00:41:55] Speaker A: They're the packers. [00:41:57] Speaker D: Now it's dolphins. [00:41:59] Speaker C: Dolphins. [00:42:00] Speaker D: I'm heartbroken about that pick because I was about to make a left field pick out of for myself. But I guess I'll go the safe route now and address the actual needs. [00:42:12] Speaker B: Grand wattle. [00:42:13] Speaker C: The actual needs. [00:42:14] Speaker B: We already have, like, three receivers this guy wanted. [00:42:16] Speaker A: Tyreek, Jalen Waddle and Z. [00:42:18] Speaker D: Imagine that lineup, though. Jalen Waddle. Tyree. [00:42:20] Speaker A: Yeah, dude. [00:42:21] Speaker B: Go line or defense? [00:42:23] Speaker D: Two running backs. I. Raheem what's his name? Raheem Oster and Devin. [00:42:28] Speaker C: A chain. [00:42:29] Speaker D: Dude, that would be the fastest lineup of all time. A chain on top of the fastest lineup. [00:42:33] Speaker A: Sorry already. [00:42:35] Speaker B: So who's your pick? [00:42:36] Speaker A: Graham Barton. [00:42:39] Speaker B: Who? [00:42:40] Speaker D: Graham Barton. [00:42:41] Speaker A: Oh, Graham Barton. [00:42:42] Speaker B: Okay. Guard center. Okay. There you go. I got lost in all of that, but I like. Yeah, you get some tools and protection. And, hey, you're gonna need some protection for two. Cause, hey, he's about to be up for that massive contract extension and if you want to sign him to that, you want to make sure that he's healthy, so. Good pick. I'm going to go Baltimore Ravens. Connor, you're okay. Yeah, I know. [00:43:06] Speaker A: You did say, I'm going to go Baltimore Ravens. [00:43:09] Speaker B: I was just saying I'm going to go with Connor. [00:43:10] Speaker C: So, you know, the Baltimore Ravens did just lose Odell Beckham Junior and they need a wide receiver. Do I think they will take it, but give me Brian Thompson finally. I think it's a great, I mean, it's great value. [00:43:25] Speaker A: He's really good value. [00:43:26] Speaker C: So I think Lamar, Derek Henry, Mark Andrews and blanket on the white was here. They dragged it last year. [00:43:36] Speaker B: Likely he's a good threat, too, as well. [00:43:37] Speaker D: The white flowers. [00:43:39] Speaker B: Say it again. [00:43:40] Speaker C: They flowers. There you go. [00:43:42] Speaker A: Oh, that's. We were blanking on. Sorry. I zoned out because it was my pick, but I didn't. My bad. [00:43:46] Speaker C: I was trying to think, but hey, I think that's a great offense and. [00:43:49] Speaker B: Just kidding. He signed, he left. He went to the Jags, I think. [00:43:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:43:53] Speaker A: Anyway, thanks. [00:43:55] Speaker B: The 49 ers, you're back on the clock. [00:43:59] Speaker A: I the four nine ers are interesting position because now with where we're at in this draft and who's available, their most pressing need, in my opinion, the premier guys at tackle are off the board. There's still Jordan Morgan, Arizona guy who I believe is solid, but I kind of also want to go in a cornerback direction, and I really do like Ennis Ragstra at a Missouri. But, man, it's. [00:44:28] Speaker C: What about edge? [00:44:28] Speaker A: Maybe this is not an easy one. [00:44:30] Speaker C: I can see they lost their starting. [00:44:32] Speaker A: They lost chase young. That's also lost that. Yeah, let's, let's relax on the starting. [00:44:37] Speaker C: Let's. Yeah. [00:44:39] Speaker A: And you could go edge and that's. I had that thought, but I think. [00:44:44] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:44:46] Speaker A: I think that I would probably lean. I'm making sure there's nobody I'm missing from a tackle perspective that I don't want it. I don't want to. I think I'd have to go. I didn't go best player. Since they're such a good team, they have the luxury of being able to get a little bit nitpicky with their, with their first round pick. And I think if I wanted to do best player available. I would consider Chop Robinson here, but I think because of how pressing that need is for that team, I'm going to go with Jordan Morgan, the tackle out of Arizona. [00:45:20] Speaker B: Seems like a 49 ers pick, too. Yeah, just a tackle. I guess I have the, you know, Super bowl champs. [00:45:28] Speaker A: Super bowl champ. [00:45:30] Speaker B: You know, I took that speed demon from Texas earlier with Xavier worthy, and I kind of want to lean, you know, his partner in crime and Donnie Mitchell. But something tells me the Chiefs aren't going to do that, and I don't know why. [00:45:44] Speaker C: Don't let tater be happy. [00:45:45] Speaker A: No, don't say anything. Don't say anything. [00:45:47] Speaker B: I just feel like if you have, you know, I just feel like you're going to need go for a bigger wide receiver because, well, first of all, how tall is Adoni Mitchell? [00:45:54] Speaker A: Six'four. [00:45:55] Speaker B: Six'four? [00:45:56] Speaker A: Maybe six'five. [00:45:57] Speaker B: Well, I think you don't do that. [00:45:59] Speaker A: Make your pick that you were going to make. [00:46:01] Speaker B: I thought he was a little bit smaller, and I was just. He's not small. [00:46:03] Speaker A: I can tell you that right now. [00:46:04] Speaker B: Just because I was thinking of him. Hollywood Brown, snead. These guys aren't the. They're all speed demons, so. [00:46:11] Speaker C: 64196. [00:46:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:12] Speaker B: So, I mean, I think they're going to need a bigger wide receiver to target Keon Coleman. I was going to say that, but, like, I do think the way he's raised his draft stock a little bit, and I don't think Coleman has Xavier Legatt. That's Rod McConkie. That's a hometown pick for you right there. [00:46:29] Speaker A: But for the Kansas City Chiefs, I. [00:46:32] Speaker B: Didn'T know his height, so I'm sorry to do this, d, but I'm going to take a Donnie Mitchell. [00:46:37] Speaker A: I shouldn't have said anything, man. [00:46:38] Speaker B: I really thought he was like six. Like six one or six two. [00:46:41] Speaker A: I really wanted ad Mitchell at a. It's a good pick. It's objectively the right pick, right. I did really want him at 33, but I think because Ad Mitchell is not there, I would definitely consider. I'm really curious to see, to see where lad McConkie goes in this draft. The Panthers do have two second round picks, so I think my ideal scenario here is I'm going to go somebody who I think will be an important tool for this team in Peyton Wilson, the linebacker off ball linebacker out of NC State. I think the guy's an athletic, absolute freak. I think the way he approaches the game is great, but, yeah, I'm going to stick with that. I would have considered lad McConkie and depending on how the rest of, you know, management in the NFL feels about him, though, it may change, you know, where I take this pick, but I think I would prefer to get Peyton Wilson early and then go lad McConkie later on or vice versa. Honestly, I really don't think I would be upset with either, but I think. [00:47:44] Speaker B: We had a nice draft. I don't, I don't know about you guys, but I like the pick. I like that you guys, you picked a linebacker that you guys kind of, I think will be a culture setter for you guys. Especially Dave Canales is looking, literally, Luke Keekley loves that guy. [00:47:57] Speaker A: He's looked out to Luke Keakley. And anybody who Luke Keekley endorses, I endorse. [00:48:01] Speaker B: Hey, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. But just a quick recap before we close out our show here, let's go through these draft picks and bear with. [00:48:08] Speaker A: Us because every single one right now. [00:48:10] Speaker B: I'm going to do a very quick version. I don't know if I'm even going to get through all this with the time we have left, but I'm going to definitely try. Number one pick, Caleb Williams. Number two, Jayden Daniels. [00:48:19] Speaker A: Wow. Really going. Oh, my gosh. We have time. Dude, you don't do it that fast. [00:48:25] Speaker B: Number three, trig me. Number four, Arizona. Trade. [00:48:27] Speaker C: Say the teams. [00:48:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Number three, New England Patriots. [00:48:31] Speaker C: Okay. [00:48:31] Speaker B: Number four, Arizona Cardinals. Trade to the Minnesota Vikings. Trade Jj McCarthy. Number four, LA Chargers. They take Malik. Neighbors. Number five, New York giants, Marvin Harrison. [00:48:40] Speaker A: We're gonna have to play this in half speed when we go back to listen to it, man. [00:48:43] Speaker B: Please continue after Harrison. We have the LA Chargers, or no, we have the Titans. [00:48:48] Speaker A: I'm sorry, we have the Titans. [00:48:50] Speaker B: And we have Joe altitude. The Falcons, they trade back with the Arizona Carnos, who took, originally took the 11th pick from the Minnesota Vikings. So the Falcons now have eleven pick Arizona back up. They take their wide receiver, one beating out the Chicago Bears, and they take Romo dunes or whatever. [00:49:09] Speaker C: You don't have to, you can say. [00:49:10] Speaker A: Hey, pronunciation is not your strong suit. [00:49:12] Speaker B: We're on the clock. [00:49:13] Speaker A: You said Romo with Dunzianze. [00:49:16] Speaker B: That was clearly me is like, added. [00:49:18] Speaker C: A lot of levels there for the recap. You don't have to say the, like, everything that was traded, you could just. [00:49:23] Speaker B: Say, oh, you don't want to do that. [00:49:24] Speaker A: Just say who drafted them. Yeah. [00:49:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:49:25] Speaker A: So you drafted them in their position. [00:49:27] Speaker B: Easier. Easier for me. Way easier. Okay. Chicago Bears, Dallas Turner. [00:49:33] Speaker A: Right. [00:49:34] Speaker B: New York jets, Brock bowers, the Atlanta Falcons. Lotu Lotu, the Denver Broncos. Bo Nicks, Oakland Raiders. Terry on Arnold, the Saints trade to the Jags. Quinon Mitchell, the Colts. Nate Wiggins, New Orleans. [00:49:48] Speaker A: Disappointing. [00:49:49] Speaker C: Nate Wiggins, Colts, Nate Wiggins. [00:49:53] Speaker A: It's okay. Keep going. [00:49:54] Speaker B: Saint straight. [00:49:57] Speaker A: What do we say? [00:49:58] Speaker B: No, wait. Stab. There we go. Illumina fo shiwanwe. [00:50:02] Speaker C: Mm hmm. [00:50:03] Speaker A: We're just gonna let you keep going. Yeah. Olufanu for the sake of listening back. [00:50:08] Speaker B: Yeah. Bengals, Connor shocked the world when the Bengals traded with the eagles and took Jared verse, the rams. I stole your pick. Byron Murphy. [00:50:17] Speaker A: Steelers. [00:50:19] Speaker B: JT Latham. Miami. Traded with the lions. Tate Cooper, djein de Jean. [00:50:25] Speaker A: Keep going. Come on. [00:50:26] Speaker B: Cincinnati Bengals pick. [00:50:28] Speaker A: Kool aid McKinnistry, power through. Don't look at them. Keep doing it. [00:50:34] Speaker B: Minnesota Vikings. Traded with the cardinals. You know, the fuaga I really said. [00:50:41] Speaker A: You said, you know, and you were. [00:50:43] Speaker B: Like, uh, I literally didn't even write his first name. [00:50:46] Speaker A: Tylee Spoaga. Yeah. [00:50:47] Speaker B: I was like, I was not gonna get it. Cowboys. They took Tyler gutten. Packers. Mems. [00:50:54] Speaker A: Right. [00:50:57] Speaker B: At this point, I'm just, I just read the last names, right. Dolphins. They take Graham Barton out of Duke. I missed the bills, I think. [00:51:05] Speaker D: Xavier worthy. [00:51:06] Speaker B: They have bills. Xavier worthy. My pick. Ravens. Brian Thomas, junior 49 ers. Morgan, the tackle from Arizona. Chiefs, Ad Mitchell and Panthers first pick of the second round, Peyton Willis. [00:51:18] Speaker C: There you go. [00:51:19] Speaker A: Let's go. Just in time, just in time. [00:51:22] Speaker B: We're right, right? And just like that, we're right on the money. Thank you for listening to the student section on WVA 90.7.
