[00:00:00] Speaker A: WVUA FM, Tuscaloosa. [00:00:09] Speaker B: Hello, everybody. You are listening to WVUA 90.7 FM, Tuscaloosa. Student section fantasy sports my name is Jamie Martinez and I'm joined by Jake Reichert, Lincoln Berkholder and Zach Elrod. On today's episode, we are once again going to be doing an NFL fantasy draft, this time updated with all of the new current NFL free agency signings and acquisitions. Some players who have found new homes since our last draft include Saquon Barkley, Keenan Allen, Derek Henry and so many more. Our fantasy format will remain the same as always, with one QB, two running backs, two receivers, one flex spot, one tight end, a defense, a kicker, and three bench spots that we can add onto as time goes on. This draft is by PPR scoring, not standard scoring, by the way. Now, this time, instead of a random number sequence generator, I actually found a random name sequence generator so we won't be all confused with the 12345. Whatever. So now I have a I'm gonna randomize our names and get our draft order. Let's get it going, snake draft. The order is Lincoln with the first pick. I have the second pick, Zach is third, and Jake Riker. [00:01:20] Speaker A: We're off to a good start. [00:01:21] Speaker B: Jake, David and Joku Riker is fourth. So with that being said, I guess we could just jump right into it. I hope y'all have a pick in mind because, Lincoln, you're kicking us off. [00:01:35] Speaker C: We know where he's going. Well, I wasn't planning on having the first overall pick. I'll take Christian McCaffrey. [00:01:46] Speaker A: What? [00:01:48] Speaker C: Look, man, I wasn't planning on having the first ever. I told you that I'd pick him. But up. I mean, he's Christian McCaffrey. Like, I have the first overall pick. I have to be realistic. That's who I would. [00:01:58] Speaker A: Nope. [00:01:58] Speaker B: He wanted Saquon bark. [00:01:59] Speaker C: I want him. I wanted him so bad. [00:02:01] Speaker B: But you can get him in the round. Two. [00:02:03] Speaker C: I can't. [00:02:03] Speaker A: I can't. [00:02:04] Speaker C: Just an RB. [00:02:04] Speaker D: One is Christian McCaffrey. [00:02:06] Speaker C: I can't. Yeah, I can't justify him being over Christian McCaffrey. [00:02:10] Speaker B: All right, so CMC is off the board. I am number two. And, oh, man, this is a tough decision, but I think I want to go with the top receiver on the board, which can be, honestly, like four different dudes. But after having a heck of a last year, he is a target machine, a reception machine. I'm taking CD Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys as a niner fan. I hate to do it. I hate to do it. But CD Lam was a monster last year. I have a big trust in him. So the ceiling's high and the floor is higher. So, CD lamb. [00:02:43] Speaker D: I mean, I guess I gotta pick. Well, I guess I gotta pick Saquon. [00:02:47] Speaker A: Oh, no, dude. [00:02:49] Speaker B: Aw, rats. [00:02:50] Speaker D: I was interested in another guy, but. [00:02:51] Speaker B: I want a big Taekwon Saquon Barkley off the board. Make sure y'all are writing your teams down. [00:02:56] Speaker A: I got sniped already. [00:02:58] Speaker B: First snipe of the draft already. Dang. [00:03:01] Speaker A: I'm gonna go. I got two right? We're doing snake. [00:03:04] Speaker B: Yeah, you didn't snake. [00:03:10] Speaker A: I'm gonna take Jettis. [00:03:14] Speaker B: Gus Edwards is on the board. [00:03:18] Speaker A: You just say Gus Edwards still on. [00:03:19] Speaker C: The board, dude, he is. That's RB one. [00:03:22] Speaker B: Gus Edwards is on the board. [00:03:25] Speaker D: Too. [00:03:26] Speaker A: And I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go running back. I'm gonna go. Jamir Gibbs. [00:03:31] Speaker B: Mmm. [00:03:32] Speaker A: That's my RB one. Okay, I'm taking him at the turn. [00:03:36] Speaker B: Jamir Gibbs. So now we're already going into round two. Zach, let's kick it off. [00:03:42] Speaker D: I mean, dang, there's so many people to pick. I guess I gotta go Tyreek. [00:03:50] Speaker B: Tyreek Hill. [00:03:51] Speaker D: I gotta go Tyreek Hill. I need a wide receiver. One. Give me Tyreek. [00:03:54] Speaker B: Safe pick. Safe pick. I'm back on the board. I'm really torn between two guys, and I'm gonna have to get only one of them. Cause I feel like I'm gonna get sniped on the way back. So I think here, I'm gonna go with my RB one, and I'm gonna take Bijon Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons. With Kirk Cousins being added to the Falcons, I think Bijon has such a high upside through the receiving game and through the running game. New coaching knew everything for Atlanta, and I think Bijon's the centerpiece. So I'm going to take Bijon Robinson, young stud at running back. I like that. [00:04:27] Speaker C: All right, so there's a couple of different ways I could go here, but I want to solidify RB. First, he was injured for portions of this year. He was seriously injured the year before, but second year, coming off an ACL tear is typically when you see them go back to form. And Breece hall is going to come into his second year off an ACL tear. He looked real good on in the first year after an ACL tears. I can only imagine what he'll look like when he's fully healthy. So, yeah, my second pick is going to be Bruce hall. And then now we've got two running backs at the turn here. Third round? Yeah, I'll take Jamar Chase. Joe Burrow is going to come back fully healthy again next season. Jamar Chase was wide receiver. I think. I think he was a top three fantasy wide receiver as a rookie when he played a full season with Joe Burrow. He's one of the most talented receivers in the league. Obviously, we've known that since he got into the league. I'd expect him, I'd expect the Bengals to be great and I would expect them to rely on the offense super heavily, which is with no Joe Mixon now, they don't really have an elite running game. I don't know what's going on with T Higgins. He's franchise tagged right now, but who knows if he'll play week, if he'll play for the Bengals this season. And if he doesn't, Jamar Chase is all they got. So I'm definitely, definitely high on Jamar Chase this year. He'll be the 30 one for me, man. [00:05:51] Speaker B: Breece hall got sniped right off of me. That's why I was going to go with this next pick. So I'm going to have to. Oh, you were going to go with him? Okay, we're even. We're even. Okay. That makes me feel a little better. So with that out of the way, I guess I'm going to take another running back. I'm going to go Kyron Williams of the LA Rams. I'm taking niner rivals and I hate to do it. [00:06:12] Speaker A: He's just taking all of his least favorite. [00:06:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I am. I'm legit taking all my least favorite guys. But Kyron, he was a dog last year. I got him off waivers and man, did he do wonders. Finishes the RB two despite missing four games on the IR touchdown machine. Got a ton of yards and he's a young gun, so he's gonna get even more touches as time progresses and as Matt Stafford keeps aging. I love what the Rams offense is cooking up with him and puka Nakua. So I'm gonna take Chiron as my RB two, get him off the board. [00:06:41] Speaker D: All right, I guess it's my pick. So I'm looking. I think I got to go almond Ross St. Brown and I mean, he's going to be my wide receiver, too. Behind Tyree kill. [00:06:54] Speaker A: I wish I did. Nobody take Toby kill like, no, I did. [00:07:00] Speaker D: Yeah, but I mean, as a wide receiver to almond Ross St. Brown as your wide receiver, too. That's a great team. So give me almond Ross. [00:07:08] Speaker C: Ain't Brian disclaimer do not play in a four man league. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Yes, please do not play in a four man league. [00:07:13] Speaker C: That is not a league. If there's four people in it, it's not a league. [00:07:16] Speaker B: No, no. [00:07:17] Speaker A: It doesn't count. Does not. If you win the championship. [00:07:19] Speaker C: Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse. [00:07:21] Speaker B: I mean, you're basically the 2020 Lakers. [00:07:23] Speaker C: Hey, that ring was real, man. [00:07:25] Speaker B: No, it was not. Le. Mickey Mouse. [00:07:29] Speaker C: So entertaining, this. [00:07:31] Speaker B: I'm a Kings fan. [00:07:32] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm done with that. [00:07:33] Speaker B: I'm done with the 2020 bubble. [00:07:36] Speaker A: Gosh. I mean, I got a running back here. I got a receiver trying to think where to go. I mean, there's still so much talent on the board. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna mix it up a little bit. A lot of people are gonna be like, oh, my gosh, you reached for this player. But I think he could. We talked about it. We praised him. Was that last show or two shows ago that he could finish as the wide receiver one now that he's not the only one there, and he has a guy that likes to air it out. So I'm taking DJ Moore. [00:08:07] Speaker B: Reach. You reached for that player. [00:08:10] Speaker A: I'm taking DJ Moore. [00:08:11] Speaker B: I'm looking at reach for that player. [00:08:12] Speaker A: I'm looking at the receivers. I'm like, I don't want Garrett Wilson. Puka Naku is tough. AJ Brown's tough. [00:08:18] Speaker D: Mike Evans. [00:08:19] Speaker A: Yeah. But you have a better fancy, I love you, Mike Evans. [00:08:24] Speaker B: But, like, I'm taking him. [00:08:25] Speaker A: DJ Moore's, like, ten spots higher than Evans on this thing. Anyway. I just want. I just wanted to. DJ Moore. I didn't want anybody to take him because I knew he'd be gone by the time anyway. [00:08:34] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:08:35] Speaker A: Um, I mean, I truly think he could finish as, like, a top five receiver. So I'm taking. And then my. I'm gonna go running back. I'm just gonna keep stacking him up. Oh, my gosh. I'm torn between two guys. [00:08:47] Speaker C: Justice Hill, I think Gus Edwards. [00:08:51] Speaker B: Yeah. RB one. And the Chargers. [00:08:55] Speaker C: Keaton. Mitchell Keaton. [00:08:58] Speaker B: Gosh, I think Dennis Pitta is still there. [00:09:01] Speaker A: Dennis Pitta's crazy. That's crazy. I really don't know who to take. Oh, my gosh. [00:09:10] Speaker B: I don't know. I'm looking at Todd. Todd heap right here. [00:09:12] Speaker A: All right. Lewis McGahee. [00:09:15] Speaker B: Yeah. Willis McGee. [00:09:16] Speaker A: I'm gonna go Josh Jacobs. It was either him or ETN, and I'm gonna go Jacobs. [00:09:21] Speaker B: Interesting. [00:09:21] Speaker A: I like him a lot this year. I mean, the running back still on the board. I mean, Jonathan Taylor's still there. And then it's either Jacobs, Rashad White, or Josh Jacobs or Etn Jacobs or white. And I'm gonna take Jacobs. [00:09:35] Speaker B: I like that pick. That's a good little pic. [00:09:36] Speaker C: That brings you up. [00:09:37] Speaker D: Zach, it's me. I'm looking at the tight ends, but I don't think I want a tight end just yet. Give me CJ Stroud. [00:09:48] Speaker B: Oh, wow. [00:09:50] Speaker D: QB already. Early QB already. [00:09:52] Speaker C: He did this last time, too. [00:09:54] Speaker B: He did. [00:09:55] Speaker C: It was CJ Stroud, too. [00:09:57] Speaker B: He's going to get tank dull. He's going to get Nico Collins. [00:10:00] Speaker C: Ok. All right. Back of the third round. [00:10:04] Speaker B: Oh, no. You're skipping me, man? [00:10:07] Speaker C: No, I'm just thinking. [00:10:08] Speaker B: Okay, well, it's back to my pick. Ooh, I don't know who to go here. [00:10:14] Speaker A: Disgusting. [00:10:15] Speaker B: I think I'm going to roll. Oh, man, I love being so risky in these, but I don't know if I want to do it yet. I'm going to take. I'm going to just take Garrett Wilson. I'll get him off the board. If Aaron Rodgers is healthy, this is a great pick, but if he blows out his achilles in two plays again, then this is not a good pick. And I am not trying to rely on whoever the jets backup is right now. So we're just going to pray Aaron Rodgers is healthy. And I'm going to roll with Garrett Wilson because I thought he was going to be a top five receiver last year and with that Aaron Rodgers injury, that did not come to fruition. So I'm going to. I'm going to take the bet. I'm going to take Garrett Wilson. [00:10:53] Speaker C: All right, a couple ways we can go here. Two running backs, one receiver on my team right now. We are doing two flexbox, right, boys? [00:11:02] Speaker D: Yeah, we can do two flex. [00:11:03] Speaker B: We got time. [00:11:04] Speaker A: Let's do two flex. [00:11:05] Speaker C: So with two flex spots opens it up a little bit. He is a guy. I loved him going into last year because his draft stock was low, because he missed about the first four to six games of the season due to injury. I don't know what his job situation looks like. They've got a backup running back. That is. He took touches from him last year when he came back, but when he's fully healthy, I would expect him to be rb one and it's Jonathan Taylor. [00:11:31] Speaker B: Yep. [00:11:31] Speaker C: I expect the Colts offense to score a lot. Anthony Richardson was fantastic when he played. He'll be back next season in year two. He'll have the offense down even better than he did when he started in week one. And Jonathan Taylor was the engine of that offense before Anthony Richardson got there, they paid him. I don't think they paid him for no reason. I think they're going to use him a lot. Shane Steichen has a history of using the running game quite a bit. He worked in Philadelphia where they read when they ran that read option so much. And with Anthony Richardson back there, that's going to be an option. It's going to take a little bit of pressure off of Jonathan Taylor as well. And it's going to open up some receiving lanes for him because they're just going to be containing the whole game, which they're not going to be able to contain out behind them. Jonathan Taylor is going to be my pick. And then I do have another one. [00:12:19] Speaker B: Snake it up. [00:12:24] Speaker C: Let's see here. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna take Marvin Harrison junior. [00:12:31] Speaker B: Ooh, that's great. That is great. I was so glad you did that. I'm so glad you did that. [00:12:37] Speaker A: I wanted to take him, dude. [00:12:38] Speaker B: I wanted him off the board. That's awesome. [00:12:40] Speaker C: I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna take Marvin Harrison junior. I don't know where he'll end up. My best bet right now would be Arizona. [00:12:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:12:47] Speaker C: And if Kyler Murray's the quarterback, which he should be barring, they randomly trade up to number two and take a quarterback or something. [00:12:55] Speaker B: That'd be crazy. [00:12:56] Speaker C: And Kyler Murray gets traded to the Broncos. Sorry, guys, we're reaching here for a. [00:13:00] Speaker B: Bag of chips deep into the bag. [00:13:02] Speaker C: I don't want to watch Jared stid em all year, but yeah, Marvin Harrison junior, wherever he goes, will be fantastic. I would expect him to be a wide receiver. One in fantasy. From the second that he steps on the field, he's that guy. So probably the best wide receiver that's come, that's is coming out of the draft in a long time. I can't think of a wide receiver that came out that was higher touted than Marvin Harrison junior is. And he's got the pedigree. His dad is a hall, his dad was a first ballot hall of famer, I think. First ballot. I know he's a hall of famer, but one of the best receivers ever. So it's in his blood and the kids got it. So Marvin Harrison junior is going to be my pick. [00:13:40] Speaker B: I'm very glad to. [00:13:41] Speaker C: Don't hesitate to pick rookie receivers in your drafts, by the way. They have a history in the last five years of being top five receivers in fantasy. Jamar Chase winning like the fifth round his rookie year. And was wide receiver three. [00:13:52] Speaker B: Tell him. Tell him. Because you picking Marvin Harrison makes my next pick seems so much less weird because the Chargers general manager, Joe Horitz recently came out just in the last week or two and said Malik neighbors is the greatest wide receiver prospect he has ever scouted. And with the Chargers trading the farm, trading Keenan Allen, getting rid of Mike Williams, getting rid of Austin Eckler, I think it is a guarantee that Malik Nabors is a charger. I'm going to go Malik neighbors because, I mean, if you got Justin Herbert throwing you the ball, good things happen. So I'm going to take Malik neighbors. The Chargers have a high hope in him. I know the draft has not happened yet, but it's looking like a surefire pick in my opinion, unless Marvin Harrison junior falls for whatever reason. So I'm going to take Malik Nabors and I'm going to roll with it. I like what. I like what. [00:14:38] Speaker C: I thought you were going to pick Brock Bowers. That's where my head was. [00:14:41] Speaker D: Brock Bowers. [00:14:42] Speaker B: No, I think he's going to fall on the draft. [00:14:44] Speaker A: I saw something the other day that, like, he's a tight end, so I. [00:14:47] Speaker C: Don'T know how high he'll actually go. [00:14:48] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly that. [00:14:50] Speaker A: Neighbors is having, like, a lot of off field problems like before, up before this draft, and like, people are a little worried that he might not be able to transfer to the NFL. [00:14:59] Speaker B: It's okay. [00:14:59] Speaker C: Crazy falls for, like, because the NFL draft has a tendency to look into stuff far too much. [00:15:05] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, like Stroud last year. [00:15:08] Speaker B: Exactly the same with CJ. [00:15:10] Speaker C: Because of that. If he's sitting at pick seven, I'm salivating. I don't know. I don't know who is. I don't like, if somebody's picking like seven, eight, nine, and they and Malik neighbors is on the board, like, that's a sure fire pick. There's no way. [00:15:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:23] Speaker B: Yep. I agree. [00:15:24] Speaker C: Watched him torch Alabama for like 300 yards. [00:15:27] Speaker B: It was hard to watch. [00:15:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:29] Speaker D: Yeah, I watched that, too. So I think we were all at that game. No, it was a crazy game, too. But anyways, I'm gonna move on to my pick, and I got a little empty tight end slot here, so I think I got to pick the best tight end off the board. That's Samuel Porta for the Detroit Lions. A great year one for him. I mean, he was a main contributor to their playoff run that they did have. And I think he still got Jared golf. They're still keeping most of their team there and that, like, to Jake's point with early Jamir Gibbs pick, I mean, him and David Montgomery are still going to be very special in that backfield. So I think this Detroit Lions team is still going to be a special team. But as far as them making it as far as they did in these last playoffs, that remains to be seen. But I know Samuel Porter is still going to have a monster of his season. He did last year, so that's why I'm picking them. [00:16:25] Speaker B: Amen. [00:16:26] Speaker A: I am. Really, really. This is when the draft gets to be a lot of fun, in my opinion. Like the first rounds. [00:16:32] Speaker C: Yeah, we blew through the first rounds. Cause, like, you're just looking at the first. [00:16:37] Speaker A: I think I'm gonna do one pick. We'll go to a break. [00:16:41] Speaker B: Okay. [00:16:41] Speaker A: And then I'm gonna. I'm gonna sit on my second pick a little bit. [00:16:46] Speaker B: Okay. [00:16:46] Speaker A: A little anticipated. [00:16:47] Speaker C: Put me on the edge of my seat here. [00:16:49] Speaker A: You should already be on the edge of your seat as soon as I start talking. [00:16:52] Speaker B: I'm on the edge right now. [00:16:53] Speaker C: Oh, dude. I'm waiting for Gus Edwards. I can feel it. [00:17:00] Speaker A: It's probably gonna be another reach. And that's okay. It's definitely gonna mean wow. Wait. Yeah, he's. He's down here on a lot of. On the rankings. He's like number 33 on this fantasy pros thing. But I like him as my wide receiver. Three since he's in a flex spot. He had a kind of a quiet second half of the fancy year last year, but he is in a very, very, very explosive offense in the AFC now. Just got traded. I'm going Stefan Diggs. He's my 1st, 1st flashpot. I was like, oh, I gotta take AJ Brown. He's still there. Did anybody take AJ Brown? I was gonna say AJ Brown's sitting right there and I was like, mm, that's not fun. [00:17:37] Speaker C: I just like it. He hurt my soul too much last year when he scored five points a game for the last eight games of the year. [00:17:43] Speaker B: That's pretty beast. [00:17:43] Speaker A: Yeah, but I'm still gonna take him. [00:17:46] Speaker C: I've got him in dynasty. I need him to do well. [00:17:48] Speaker B: Wait, so you're taking AJ? [00:17:50] Speaker A: No, I'm taking Steph on digs. I'm taking Steph on Diggs. [00:17:52] Speaker B: Wow. [00:17:52] Speaker A: AJ Brown. I mean, AJ Brown is just like an obvious pick, but like, I mean. [00:17:56] Speaker C: Whatever makes you happy. [00:17:57] Speaker A: They got another weapon in Philadelphia. They're gonna spread the ball even more. Like, I don't know. [00:18:02] Speaker B: That's a wide receiver. Three in Houston. [00:18:03] Speaker A: So I'm going, whatever, dude. I'm going. [00:18:06] Speaker C: Might be their fifth option. [00:18:07] Speaker A: I love Diggs and Stroud. I think Diggs gonna be a huge weapon, so why not? He's in my. I mean, he's literally a flex spot. Spot, so. [00:18:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:16] Speaker C: And I mean, he was like wide receiver to like two years ago. Yeah, he did score like 15 touchdowns in 2022 or something like that. I remember he had like a year where he just had. It was like a touchdown a game. [00:18:28] Speaker A: It was the year. It was his first year in Buffalo. Everybody thought, forgot about him. I took him. Super. I got him in like round ten in my eight man league. [00:18:34] Speaker C: Reach. [00:18:37] Speaker A: Every. Every single pick is a reach for me. All right. [00:18:43] Speaker C: So you take Dave and Joku, man. [00:18:45] Speaker B: David and Joku was a good one of those. [00:18:46] Speaker A: You laugh now, but he will be in my benchmark. [00:18:49] Speaker C: I'm gonna get one of those audio sound bits off of Google and just play it. Reach. [00:18:53] Speaker B: Yeah. And with that, we're going to be right back after a short intermission, continuing our 20, 23, 24 free agency updated fantasy draft. We'll see you all soon. [00:19:12] Speaker A: WVuaFm, Tuscaloosa. [00:19:22] Speaker B: Welcome back to WVUA, 90.7 FM, Tuscaloosa. You are listening to student section fantasy sports. We're back with our 2023 to 24 NFL free agency updated fantasy draft. Let's continue where we left off with Jake, who has been sitting here pondering, thinking, having deep conversations with himself on who he's gonna pick. It has come down to one person only, and it is. [00:19:50] Speaker D: Jake Rykerd, bro. [00:19:51] Speaker C: Frozen. [00:19:52] Speaker A: He froze Travis etN. No. Yeah. My career I needed. I had three receivers on the. On my team already. I only had two running backs. I was thinking about going tight end QB, but this time I'm just gonna stack up the two, two prime positions in fantasy. And I'm looking here and I'm like, ETN after Etienne, I'd say there's a pretty good drop off. Like, I mean. I mean, there's Rashid. Rashid or Rashad White. Rashad White sitting there. But I think ETN has just so much more upside than white. I'm going to this year. And then after him, it drops off like it's pacheco. [00:20:30] Speaker C: James Cook. [00:20:31] Speaker A: James Cook. [00:20:33] Speaker C: A whole bunch of mid. [00:20:34] Speaker A: Yeah. So, I mean, I have to go with ETN. He's my second bike spot, and that is your. [00:20:42] Speaker B: I was on the second pick of the snake. That's what it was. [00:20:44] Speaker A: I hope everybody is off their seats with that. [00:20:49] Speaker B: Yes. [00:20:49] Speaker A: Yes. [00:20:50] Speaker C: I am Travis et. [00:20:52] Speaker B: I'm on the edge. Now, where was Zach? [00:20:56] Speaker D: Oh, wait, here's second. Oh, wait, no, no, that's right. That's right, because you're four. [00:21:00] Speaker A: Yeah, we can never figure out our orders. [00:21:04] Speaker D: All right. [00:21:06] Speaker B: Yeah, I know I have the names. [00:21:08] Speaker A: Down here and I still don't know who's number three. [00:21:12] Speaker D: But anyways, I'm going to since Jake sniped my running back pick because I need an RB. Two. I guess I got to go. I'm not going to go Rashad White. I am going to go. Sleeper Isaiah Pacheco action. I think he's built for a good season this year. I mean, coming off the season he just had, he had some key, definitely some good 20 point games, some high scoring fantasy numbers. So I think Isaiah Pacheco is definitely a good pickup for this season. [00:21:42] Speaker B: So real talk. Okay, well, I can't let myself pick all of my least favorite players. [00:21:52] Speaker D: Brock purdy. [00:21:53] Speaker A: Already? [00:21:53] Speaker B: No, I can't let it continue. [00:21:55] Speaker A: You're taking Jamie. We're not. There's no left tackle spots in fantasy. [00:22:00] Speaker C: You can't take Trent Williams, man. [00:22:02] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm taking Sam Donald right here. No, I'm taking my actual favorite player in the league, and I can't let y'all take him. I'm taking Brandon Ayuk, the best wide receiver in the NFL. He would have had better stats than CD Lamb had he been given his. [00:22:14] Speaker C: Team, had he been on the target. [00:22:15] Speaker A: Why is he taking the Steelers receiver right now? [00:22:17] Speaker C: That's what I'm saying. [00:22:18] Speaker B: Patrick Queen is a Steeler. [00:22:20] Speaker A: He doesn't want to be that. I don't care about Patrick Queen. [00:22:23] Speaker C: Patrick Queen is mid. [00:22:26] Speaker B: So I'm taking Brandon Ayuk, the best route runner in the league, best hands. [00:22:31] Speaker A: Ayuk doesn't want to be there. [00:22:32] Speaker B: He's getting a paycheck there. [00:22:33] Speaker A: His girlfriend doesn't want him there. [00:22:35] Speaker B: They don't control it. So Brandon Ike's the best wide receiver in the NFL. And if he goes anywhere else, then I'm going to cry, like the same time. Same thing that happened to Trey Lance. I'll cry. [00:22:43] Speaker C: Fine, man. I feel the pain. We lost Jerry Judy. [00:22:46] Speaker B: I was eating a burrito and Trey Lance was traded and I cried. [00:22:49] Speaker A: I wanted to see how long you could keep his tray. [00:22:51] Speaker C: Jerry Judy. [00:22:53] Speaker B: So Brandon, I the man. That's the pick. [00:22:56] Speaker A: They're going to stack them with Purdy and Kittle. [00:22:58] Speaker B: And don't get me started. I might. [00:23:00] Speaker A: Moody and then Juwan Jennings, Ray Ray McLaren. Go ahead, Lincoln. [00:23:05] Speaker C: Let's see when I'm taking a look here. I got my first pick, so I'll start with that. Kirk Cousins is the quarterback in Atlanta. [00:23:14] Speaker A: No, gosh. Come on, dude. Got a wider seat. No way. [00:23:18] Speaker C: You've got a wide receiver out there that's pretty good at football. He was good in his rookie year, which was he rookie last year. The year before. [00:23:25] Speaker A: The year before. [00:23:25] Speaker B: Year before. [00:23:26] Speaker C: So he's two years deep now into. Into his career. He was great or solid. His rookie year wasn't great. He was great at times. Last year. The quarterback situation was horrible, though. [00:23:36] Speaker A: A Falcons receiver. [00:23:38] Speaker C: We'll go ahead and get to it. It's Drake London. Kirk Cousins is there. I don't know. I don't know how amazing he'll be coming off his torn achilles at the age that he's at, but I would expect him to still be able to throw the ball relatively good enough. Better than Desmond Ritter, that's for sure. So Drake London should have every opportunity to succeed in an offense that's now led by. I'm actually, I think it's the Rams pass. [00:24:02] Speaker A: Big money Kirk. [00:24:04] Speaker C: I was thinking of their OC. I think it's like the. I think it's Zach Robinson. I think it's the Rams old, like past game coordinator or something. But yes, I'll take Drake London and then I don't have a quarterback or a tight end, so I got a decision to make here, and it's going to be for a quarterback and it's going to be Josh Allen. He's got the rushing ability, the receiving core is beliefs a lot to be desired now. It's a combination of Khalil Shakir. I think Gabe Davis is a free agent. I don't even think they. [00:24:33] Speaker A: He's in Jacksonville. [00:24:33] Speaker B: He went to Jacksonville. [00:24:34] Speaker C: Jacksonville. Sign him. So it's Khalil Shakir and Jameson Crowder. Dog commanders legend. Jameson, DMV legend. [00:24:43] Speaker A: James, you forgot. You just reminded me of Crowder. I might have to take him here, I guess at the next. [00:24:48] Speaker C: I guess they've got like two solid tight. [00:24:50] Speaker A: I think they. I think they have Mac Holland, though. [00:24:53] Speaker C: Hey, Mike. I think I remember, but, like, it's Matt Collins. [00:24:56] Speaker B: Like, Collins was cool. [00:24:57] Speaker C: How much better is he than Khalil Shakir? [00:24:59] Speaker A: Unc legend, dude. [00:25:00] Speaker B: Matt Collins has a TikTok where he talks about rugs and carpets. I don't know what that has to do with. Anybody does that. [00:25:07] Speaker C: So, yeah, so I'll take Josh Allen. The rushing abilities there, the. Obviously he can. He can sling it. I don't know who he'll be throwing it. To. But as long as they're open, I don't really care who it is. Collusion here took a couple 70 yards to the house last year. Hopefully he can do it again. Regardless, Josh Allen should score you 15 or more rushing touchdowns, especially with no weapons. So I'll go ahead and snag up my quarterback here in Josh Allen. [00:25:30] Speaker A: Tick tock. [00:25:31] Speaker B: That pick about carpets. [00:25:32] Speaker D: Yeah, I did not know that. [00:25:33] Speaker B: He does, like, fun facts and stuff. [00:25:34] Speaker C: Wait, I have seen that, though. [00:25:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I'm not lying. It's a really weird TikTok. He just sits on his rug and stuff. So is it back to me, or do you have another pick? [00:25:45] Speaker A: No, I just took Allen and. [00:25:47] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that's right. Okay, so it's back to me. And correct me if I'm wrong, is Puka Nakuagon? [00:25:54] Speaker A: No. No. [00:25:55] Speaker B: Oh, well, all right, then I'm gonna go puka nakua. [00:25:58] Speaker C: Puka Nahua. [00:25:59] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a real safe pick right there. So Puka had one heck of a year. Set all of the NFL receiving rookie records just last season. Still didn't end up with the rookie of the year because of CJ Stroud, but a miraculous season nonetheless. He's been phenomenal for his one season, and with Cooper cup aging, he's become Matt Stafford's favorite target. And the Rams offense is very explosive. I feel like it's a great pick, so I'm going to take Puka Nakua. [00:26:22] Speaker C: You gonna pick anybody outside of the NFC west? [00:26:24] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm taking all my rivals, dude. [00:26:26] Speaker B: Like, I don't like Kyron, I don't like Puka CD, but I'm gonna win. [00:26:31] Speaker A: Zach, I just wrote my next two picks down, so if you take either. [00:26:34] Speaker D: One of them, I'm actually looking at some rookies. [00:26:38] Speaker B: No, don't take a rookie. Don't take a rookie. [00:26:40] Speaker D: He doesn't write down the rookie because. [00:26:43] Speaker B: He didn't write down a rookie. You're trying to snipe him. Yeah, we're not trying to win anymore. We're just trying to snipe Jake. [00:26:47] Speaker D: Just not Jake. [00:26:49] Speaker B: Yeah. I can't even read Jake's shirt, so I can. Probably couldn't read his phone, bro. [00:26:59] Speaker A: The letters are huge in your city. [00:27:01] Speaker D: We can. [00:27:05] Speaker A: I could. I could. Yeah, I was gonna say I. For those who can't see your. I could reach out and slap Jamie across the face, and he can't reach my shirt. [00:27:16] Speaker D: Y'all could probably see it at home right now. Bro, I've had PowerPoint titles. [00:27:22] Speaker C: Let's get real earth. [00:27:23] Speaker A: How can you not? Dude, please. [00:27:29] Speaker D: Jalen Milroy. Shout out. [00:27:30] Speaker B: Shout out. I thought that was Isaiah Bond. [00:27:32] Speaker D: Middle linebacker. Jalen Milroy built like I'm gonna like him. But anyways, uh, for the rookies. [00:27:41] Speaker A: You gonna rookie? No. You? [00:27:43] Speaker D: I can't. I'm not as good as you, Jake, today. I'm sorry, dude. But anyways, I gotta go. Brock Bowers. Why not? [00:27:50] Speaker B: There we go. [00:27:51] Speaker D: I'm gonna let a little rookie fly. Why not? For the culture. [00:27:55] Speaker B: For the culture. [00:27:55] Speaker A: For the culture. [00:27:56] Speaker C: Culture. Pick rock Bowers. [00:27:59] Speaker A: So I got got two picks up here. I'm already three running backs and three receivers deep, so I need to start filling my QB and tight end slots. I'm gonna fill both of them here. And I really thought Lincoln was gonna take him. When he started talking about Kirk Cousins and the Falcons, I got really upset. [00:28:18] Speaker C: There's absolutely no shot. You're about to pick Kyle Pitts. [00:28:21] Speaker A: I'm taking Kyle Pitts. I'm gonna puke, manually finishes the tight end. [00:28:26] Speaker B: 16. [00:28:27] Speaker A: I'm taking Kalpits. I love. I mean, he's still a phenomenal. [00:28:32] Speaker C: How's the Kool Aid taste? How's the kool aid taste this year. [00:28:37] Speaker A: With Kirk Cousins there? I think Kalpits takes a huge leap. I think he's actually relevant in fantasy this year and pretty high up there. I mean, Kelsey and Andrews and Kittle are all still on the board, but, like, I don't know. That's not fun. Kelsey's old and he's dating Taylor Swift. [00:28:54] Speaker C: I love Mark Taylor. [00:28:55] Speaker A: There's nothing against Mark Andrews. I love Marc Andrews. And I don't want to take kittle because. No, don't get me started. That was swifty. [00:29:03] Speaker C: I'm not picking a left tackle in round seven of fantasy. [00:29:06] Speaker A: That's what I'm saying. So I'm going to take Pitts for the upside. Why not? And then I'm going to fill my quarterback slot. Allen's off the board. I won't pick my homes. I don't like Jalen hurts. Really? Again? [00:29:19] Speaker B: Remember, you can't take running backs for your quarterback spot. [00:29:24] Speaker A: You make me so mad. I'm taking Lamar Jackson. [00:29:29] Speaker C: You just motivated that big, man. I don't even know if he was gonna do it until you said that. [00:29:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:29:33] Speaker B: No, that was the whole point. [00:29:36] Speaker A: I had Lamar Jackson slash Jalen hurts. But just cause you said that, I'm taking Lamar Jackson and I hope he gets a third mvp. And, I mean, that's two running backs right there. Whatever. Lamar Jackson owned your team on Christmas night. The road, so I don't care. [00:29:55] Speaker B: Ryan Tannehill. All right, it's back to Zach. [00:29:58] Speaker A: Why did you just say Ryan Tannehill. [00:30:01] Speaker D: Back to me? Just pick. Came off the Brock Bowers pick. So isn't. Who else is on the board? Isn't Jamar Chase still on the board? [00:30:11] Speaker B: No. [00:30:12] Speaker A: No way. [00:30:13] Speaker D: Okay, I was about to say I didn't remember anybody picking Jamar Chase. [00:30:18] Speaker C: I picked him in the six for the third round. [00:30:20] Speaker D: Oh, you did? [00:30:21] Speaker B: Dang. [00:30:21] Speaker D: Now I got a scramble. [00:30:24] Speaker C: Okay, but, like, why. [00:30:25] Speaker A: How did. [00:30:25] Speaker C: How did you look at your marches in, like, the 7th round and be like, yeah, yeah. [00:30:31] Speaker D: That's not an overview because I didn't hear anybody pick him. I was like, okay, why not? But AJ Brown's sitting here. But I don't really want to pick AJ Brown. [00:30:39] Speaker A: Yeah, that's crazy that AJ Brown is still there. [00:30:41] Speaker B: Just take Nico Collins. [00:30:42] Speaker C: It's just something about the way he ended the season. [00:30:44] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't. [00:30:47] Speaker D: I'm picking Mike Evans. I know he's aging. I know he's aging. I know he's aging. But it's freaking Mike Evans. Same every year. He's like. He's like, Mike just fell out of my jake. Y'all can't see that. [00:31:05] Speaker A: Would have been really loud. [00:31:06] Speaker D: Wish y'all could see that right now. [00:31:07] Speaker A: Crushed. [00:31:08] Speaker B: Whatever this is sitting behind, there's too much happening. [00:31:14] Speaker D: Anyway. He's like Mike Connelly except for the NFL. [00:31:18] Speaker A: Okay, you just took Mike Evans and then disrespected him with the Mike Conley. [00:31:25] Speaker D: That's not disrespect, dude. Mike Connelly's a goat, bro. [00:31:30] Speaker A: He's a goat. Maybe. I don't know ball. But is Mike Conley a first? Is he a hall of famer? No. [00:31:35] Speaker D: Nobody's the same. [00:31:36] Speaker A: Mike Evans should be able to make a ballot. [00:31:40] Speaker B: He's the all time leading score of the goodies. [00:31:42] Speaker C: No, no. [00:31:42] Speaker D: Don't get me wrong. [00:31:43] Speaker A: Yeah. Awesome. Yes. [00:31:46] Speaker B: Don't get me wrong. Marcus. All Zach Randolph. [00:31:50] Speaker D: Zach Randolph. [00:31:53] Speaker C: Z Bo. [00:31:53] Speaker D: But I'm talking about not talent wise, but he's consistent. He's the same every year. That's what I'm trying to say, guys. [00:32:04] Speaker A: I just got up and dabbed you up and then fell on my seat. You were like, he's like Mike Conley. [00:32:08] Speaker B: Mike Conley. [00:32:09] Speaker D: Mike Conley and Mike Evans. [00:32:10] Speaker B: Mike Evans is taller than Mike Conley. Mike Conley is a basketball player. [00:32:15] Speaker A: Mike Conley was me. [00:32:18] Speaker D: He was in that one all star game. Was it 2022? Yes, bro. [00:32:23] Speaker B: He's a one time all star almost. [00:32:25] Speaker D: Beat Steph Curry in the three point contest. Almost? [00:32:27] Speaker A: Almost. [00:32:29] Speaker D: That's pretty impressive. Honestly, not a lot of people I beat only of a ring. [00:32:35] Speaker C: Horrible team. [00:32:36] Speaker B: No. [00:32:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:37] Speaker D: Now he plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves. [00:32:39] Speaker B: Mike Evans is like Sergey Baca. [00:32:41] Speaker D: Not for the Tea Wolves. The tea Wolves do not. Okay. This is an NFL fantasy football. Okay? I picked Mike Evans. That's it, guys. [00:32:48] Speaker C: Goodbye. You started this. You're the one who compared Mike Evans to Mike. [00:32:52] Speaker A: That might have been like a five minute rant about Mike Evans. [00:32:55] Speaker D: Mike Conway wins a fantasy football. My bad, guys. [00:32:58] Speaker A: My bad. [00:32:58] Speaker C: We're like eight rounds, actually. We're just stretching it out a little. [00:33:00] Speaker A: Mike Evans is still on the board. Took Mike Conley as his wide receiver. 30. [00:33:06] Speaker B: All right, well, it's back to me, but I just kiddle. No, I think. You know what you got me thinking. I think before Trey Lance, before my pick, we're gonna go to a quick break. We'll see y'all. [00:33:19] Speaker A: What? In the middle of the round? [00:33:22] Speaker B: Oh, God. [00:33:23] Speaker A: You gotta take it. He doesn't even know who he wants. That's why he wants to go for a break. [00:33:29] Speaker B: You know? I'm going Trey McBride. Screw it. [00:33:32] Speaker C: There we go. [00:33:32] Speaker B: We're going Trey McBride at tight end. I don't want Travis Kelsey. I don't want George Kittle. He's a left tackle. I want Trey McBride of the. No, I don't know. Mark Andrews. [00:33:42] Speaker A: Wait, you need to pipe down over there, dude. [00:33:44] Speaker B: I want Trey McBride. [00:33:45] Speaker A: First you can't read my shirt, and now you were ripping apart Mark Andrews. [00:33:50] Speaker B: And Travis Kelsey and George kill. I just called him a left tackle. I think he's more of a right tackle, but I'm going to take Trey McBride. He dogged the 49 ers multiple times last year, so good. Young tight end with Kyler Murray. Easy pick, Brocade. [00:34:03] Speaker A: Stay out of the NFC west. He literally can't do it. [00:34:06] Speaker B: I'm not taking a Seahawk, I'll say that. So. All right, now let's keep going. [00:34:11] Speaker C: All right, so word out. [00:34:12] Speaker A: Like, I just can't believe he wanted to go on a break. I'm so confused. [00:34:17] Speaker C: That came out. [00:34:19] Speaker A: We're going to go on a break. [00:34:20] Speaker C: But I will take the last pick before the break here. Now that the round is ending. There we go. [00:34:25] Speaker B: There we go. [00:34:26] Speaker C: Someone. It is the 12345. It's the 8th round, and Travis Kelsey's on the board. So I'll just go ahead and get this out of the way. I hate the Chiefs as much as anybody. They've terrorized me and Bronco's country for the last decade. [00:34:42] Speaker B: That's right. [00:34:43] Speaker C: But everything has terrorized Bronco's country for the last decade. For roughly the last decade. So at least this way, if he scores 40 points against us, I get them in fantasy. [00:34:54] Speaker B: There you go. [00:34:55] Speaker C: So I'll take Travis, Kelsey, and hedge my bets for when the broncos lose by 100. [00:34:59] Speaker A: Gotta do what you gotta do, I say. [00:35:01] Speaker C: Cause Alex Singleton is not guarding that guy. [00:35:05] Speaker A: Are we actually going on a break this time? [00:35:06] Speaker B: We can actually go on a break. [00:35:07] Speaker A: This time, and we'll come back with Lincoln's pick. [00:35:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:35:09] Speaker A: All right. [00:35:10] Speaker B: Shut up. [00:35:10] Speaker A: I say we switch seats for the next section. [00:35:13] Speaker B: Whoa. [00:35:14] Speaker C: Switch seats? [00:35:15] Speaker A: Is it cause you're fucking? [00:35:15] Speaker B: Because the radio. The people on the radio are gonna be so hyped. [00:35:19] Speaker A: There's gonna be a difference. Good vibe. [00:35:22] Speaker C: Yeah. Cause they can see us all. Should we, like, just play the audio of the video of us? [00:35:27] Speaker A: Well, I just. I figured because I looked at the board and the next song on is, like, hours on, so. [00:35:32] Speaker B: Jessica, WJ. [00:35:33] Speaker A: It got me excited. [00:35:35] Speaker B: All right. Shout out Brock Eisweiler with that. We're going to be right back after a short intermission, continuing our updated free agency fantasy draft. We'll see y'all soon. [00:35:54] Speaker A: WVUA FM, Tuscaloosa. [00:36:04] Speaker B: Welcome back to WVUA, 90.7 FM, Tuscaloosa. You are listening to student section fantasy sports. We're back with our 20, 23, 24 NFL free agency updated fantasy draft. Let's get it going where we left off. Oh, man. We're having a great time here in the studio. Just. Just having amazing times. We actually did switch seats. I know y'all can't see, but I'm kind of freaking out right now. [00:36:27] Speaker D: I'm in the host seat. Yeah, Zach's leveled up, got promoted. [00:36:30] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm freaking out. Yeah, I'm gonna cry here soon. So let's get to Lincoln's pick. [00:36:35] Speaker C: All right. [00:36:37] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm tearing up. [00:36:38] Speaker C: First off, holy steel. I got no idea why PFF has him rated as the 72nd best player in fantasy, but I'm going to go ahead and take Aaron Jones. [00:36:47] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, we were just talking about him last episode. [00:36:49] Speaker C: We just talked about how much we liked him last episode. Nothing has really changed as far as his situation goes. They don't have a quarterback, so they're going to have to run the ball. They do have great wide receivers, so they can't really stack the box against him. They've got a good tight end. The offensive line is fantastic. Or mid, not fantastic. It's. It's all right. [00:37:09] Speaker A: There's. [00:37:10] Speaker C: It could be a lot worse. And Aaron Jones is obviously super talented. He'll be the number one back there. Alexander Madison showed last year. He can't really do that. The only other options there, like Keene Ngungwu, great kick returner, and Ty Chandler. And then they had Dwayne McBride, too. I don't know if they cut him or not. [00:37:29] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:37:30] Speaker B: Johnson. [00:37:31] Speaker C: They're all worse than Aaron Jones. And Aaron Jones is. They paid him. He's going to be the clear cut rb one. So I'll definitely take him with the value that I can get him out here. He'll actually be sitting on my bench as a flex option, but yeah. First bench spot goes to Aaron Jones. [00:37:46] Speaker D: It's me, right? Yeah. [00:37:48] Speaker B: Is it? Yeah, it's me. [00:37:50] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. It's shame. Yeah. [00:37:51] Speaker B: Just because you're the host doesn't mean you have all the power, brother. [00:37:53] Speaker A: Shit. It's my turn to pick. [00:37:56] Speaker D: It isn't always my turn. [00:38:00] Speaker B: All right, so it's back to my pick. I've been really loading up on the receivers. I have 123457. [00:38:09] Speaker D: You better not pick my receiver. You better not. [00:38:11] Speaker B: I'm actually going to go with a receiver that is still on the board. Surprisingly. He's. He's Patti Mahomes number one guy. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. Rashee rice, he has really everything lined up for him right now. I mean, he really broke out last season as a rookie. Nobody really expected him to do what he did. I mean, barring any legal trouble, he's really in for a phenomenal season. He's real fast. I love what he could do. So I'm real big on Rasheed rice, and I think that's a really good bench spot. I just, you know, real speed guy. I love the pick. [00:38:48] Speaker A: It's a great pick. I mean, he was clearly mahomes. [00:38:52] Speaker B: I can't even hear me talking. [00:38:53] Speaker A: I mean, he's. Mahomes is like number one option last year. [00:38:56] Speaker C: Dude, I do that all the time. I just start talking into the mic. [00:38:59] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:38:59] Speaker C: Like, and I'm just in the corner. [00:39:02] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:39:02] Speaker C: Microphone. [00:39:03] Speaker D: It'd be really easier if we had four mics, but that's all right. [00:39:07] Speaker C: We got another one in the other room, but, yeah, it's weird to be. [00:39:11] Speaker D: In the other room. [00:39:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Anyways, I was raised Rashi rice, but I'm actually. [00:39:19] Speaker C: Alright, you got it? [00:39:20] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'm gonna pick the greatest wide receiver in all of the NFL. Last year. The greatest of all time. Give me Coop Amari Cooper. [00:39:35] Speaker A: Oh, I like it. [00:39:36] Speaker D: Amari, baby, you're the goat. If you're listening to this right now, which I guarantee you're not, he might be. I love route runners, I love your brand, and I hope you do good next season. [00:39:50] Speaker C: Future Bronco. Oh, I've got the head sitting on. I can hear myself talk. This is really awkward. I think I've had enough of listening to myself talk. [00:40:03] Speaker A: Is it my turn? [00:40:03] Speaker C: I think it's trying to take it. [00:40:05] Speaker A: Pick it. [00:40:06] Speaker C: No, I think it's Jamie, isn't it? Or is it you? [00:40:09] Speaker A: No, wait, I'm lost. You were first. You tell the second pick, and then it went to two at Jamie, and then Zach picked. And now I get correct. [00:40:15] Speaker C: Correct. [00:40:16] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:40:18] Speaker A: Guys, I'm gonna take David, New Jersey, so don't relax. I'm just kidding. So I know my first pick for sure. I'm gonna. I like the rookie route. I haven't been on the rookie train like everybody else has been, so I'm gonna join it. I'm hopping on the Roma doomsday train. [00:40:34] Speaker D: I was wondering when someone's gonna. [00:40:36] Speaker A: I mean, obviously Marvin Harrison is by far, like, the greatest receiver in this draft, but I'm a huge fan of what Ramadan did. They could do. I mean, dude literally just has all the values you need to be a wide receiver one. And, I mean, maybe he'll be the wide receiver one in Buffalo next year, which I don't want to see, but it could. And even if he's not a receiver one on a team, I think he could definitely be. Have a lot of fantasy impact next year. Wherever he goes, even if he's like a receiver two, maybe a receiver three in an offense. I don't see that happening in many teams in the league, but anyway. And my next pick, so he's my. Roma Denze is my first pick, first bench slot. Are we doing kickers and defense, too? [00:41:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:20] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. We are not gonna do that. [00:41:22] Speaker A: Well, we gotta hurry up then. But I'm not gonna do that. [00:41:25] Speaker C: We could just do three bench bonds instead of the five we did last time. [00:41:28] Speaker B: Yeah, I have three. [00:41:29] Speaker A: We did five last time. I thought we just did two. [00:41:31] Speaker B: We had a lot of time. We've been rambling today. [00:41:34] Speaker A: It's been good. It's been great talk. [00:41:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:36] Speaker A: My second benchmark. [00:41:38] Speaker C: Great banter. [00:41:39] Speaker A: Um. Yep, yep. [00:41:40] Speaker C: I, like, learned that on thesaurus.com yesterday. Banter. [00:41:44] Speaker A: Banter is a great word. It's a good. Yeah. Um, well, so no way. [00:41:49] Speaker C: You picked a joku, man. We left you mark Hendrix on a silver platter. [00:41:52] Speaker A: No, I was kidding. I'm not taking joko. Um, heck, I'm gonna take Devontae Smith. [00:41:58] Speaker C: He's still there. [00:42:00] Speaker B: That's a pick. [00:42:00] Speaker A: I love him. I like him more. Is AJ Brown still there? Yeah. [00:42:05] Speaker D: No one's picked AJ Brown. That's funny. [00:42:07] Speaker A: Okay, I'm taking AJ Brown. [00:42:09] Speaker C: Oh, that was my next pick. [00:42:10] Speaker A: I'm taking AJ Brown. That sets my team apart from everybody else. [00:42:13] Speaker C: Unfortunately, you already turned in the draft card. You're on the clock, Zach. You're on the clock. Oh, I already turned to the draft card. [00:42:20] Speaker A: I took everybody. [00:42:22] Speaker D: All right, so it's. Wait, whose pick is it? [00:42:25] Speaker C: Two. [00:42:26] Speaker D: It's mine? Yeah, dude, why not? Gosh, it's fine. [00:42:29] Speaker C: I looked at Jamie first. [00:42:30] Speaker D: I honestly thought you were going to get Romo Dente Lincoln, because I know you. [00:42:33] Speaker C: He was going to be. I might have gotten him at the turn, but I already have. I had three wide receivers going to the last round. So who do I pick? [00:42:41] Speaker D: Golly, I might as well pick a rookie. Like, why not? [00:42:44] Speaker B: What's your favorite team? [00:42:46] Speaker D: Well, I'm an Amari Cooper fan, so. But I don't really want to call myself a Browns fan because that's, like, kind of sad. Yeah, that's, I mean, depressing the division. [00:42:55] Speaker A: I mean, if Watson gets back. Wait, hold on. What did you just say? I was waiting for Jake to pick that one, bro. That's crazy. [00:43:04] Speaker B: Okay, let's keep going. [00:43:08] Speaker A: I just believe land to you. Whatever. [00:43:11] Speaker D: Okay, so Mario Cooper's my favorite player. We just went past that, but I think who I'm going to pick up. Why not? [00:43:21] Speaker A: I'm sitting right next to me. Can you read my hat? [00:43:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:23] Speaker A: Okay. Just want to make sure he can read my hat now that I'm closer. Now I could actually push. [00:43:29] Speaker D: I'm about to get. [00:43:32] Speaker C: I'm about to put the jeopardy music on. [00:43:34] Speaker D: Chill, chill, chill, chill, chill. Okay. [00:43:36] Speaker A: Okay. [00:43:36] Speaker D: I'm gonna run it out. [00:43:37] Speaker C: Can I turn my pick in? [00:43:41] Speaker D: DK Metcalf. Hold up. Can I retract it? Could I retract it? Okay, fine. DK Metcalf. I couldn't think of anybody, literally. [00:43:53] Speaker C: He's got Gino. That's something. [00:43:56] Speaker D: He had a horrible start to the beginning of the season, but he had. [00:43:59] Speaker A: Some games better than purdy senior. [00:44:03] Speaker B: Let's not go there. [00:44:04] Speaker C: Oh, gosh. [00:44:05] Speaker B: Whose pick is it? Is it me now? [00:44:07] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:44:07] Speaker B: Okay. I have six wide receivers. No quarterback, no defense, running back. I have two running backs. [00:44:15] Speaker A: So both your flex and spot and bench pots are receiver. [00:44:19] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:44:20] Speaker B: I'm so awesome, you can think. [00:44:22] Speaker D: I'm gonna go another Cooper cups on the board. [00:44:25] Speaker B: There's actually a couple of receivers like Devonta. [00:44:28] Speaker C: You've hit the position cap. [00:44:30] Speaker B: Devontae Adams is, like, legit there. [00:44:32] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, I forgot about Devon. [00:44:34] Speaker C: See, like, Devon, ESPN fantasy football wide receiver cap is six. [00:44:38] Speaker B: Oh, man. Okay, well, benchmarks are filled with. No, I got one more because I haven't picked a quarterback like, on this show. [00:44:44] Speaker D: We do not like AJ Brown or Devontae Adams. [00:44:47] Speaker A: We just don't. [00:44:48] Speaker D: Oh, well. But I'm saying they always fall late in our drafts. [00:44:52] Speaker B: Okay, I'm going. [00:44:53] Speaker C: Forgot about AJ Brown. [00:44:54] Speaker B: I'm going. Wait, you took Rashad White, right? [00:44:57] Speaker C: Yeah. You picked him? [00:44:58] Speaker A: I didn't take him. [00:44:59] Speaker C: Or yeah, or no, he just talked about him. [00:45:01] Speaker A: Oh. Yeah. [00:45:02] Speaker C: Okay, other options. [00:45:03] Speaker B: I'll take Rashad White, then. Great season last year. I had him as my running back and he did great things for me. I think that's a great bench guy, especially in this very packed four man league we're in. [00:45:12] Speaker D: Now that I'm looking at the list, I could have done way better than DK Metcalf. I'm sorry, guys, but if you're a Seattle fan, you're welcome. [00:45:21] Speaker C: All right, I got. I got two bench spots. Two bench spots. A defense and a kicker. Super riveting draft board we got going on here. [00:45:33] Speaker D: I know what defense I want. [00:45:34] Speaker C: I know that for a. I'll take Crystal Lave. [00:45:37] Speaker B: He did bad things to me last year. [00:45:39] Speaker C: He's still on the board. I'll take Chris Olave. [00:45:41] Speaker A: So we doing three bench and a kicker and no defense? Is that what we're doing? [00:45:43] Speaker C: We'll do a defense? Yeah, why not? [00:45:46] Speaker D: I know what defense I'm picking up. [00:45:48] Speaker C: Yeah, we got a. Yeah, you just forget defense and kicker at 750. [00:45:55] Speaker D: So three bench guys. [00:45:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:45:57] Speaker B: Okay, so, ready to take the Raiders? [00:45:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:45:59] Speaker C: This is the last round and I'm up again. [00:46:01] Speaker D: I don't have a quarterback. Who do I get? [00:46:04] Speaker C: Which leads me to Mark Andrews. Go ahead and grab a backup tight end. I think I'll take Mark Andrews. Embarrassing. Jake, once again, does not have a tight end on his roster. [00:46:17] Speaker A: Yes, I do. Oh. [00:46:19] Speaker C: Oh. I mean, that's a receiver. [00:46:26] Speaker A: Now. [00:46:26] Speaker D: You know how I feel. [00:46:29] Speaker A: Yeah, but they don't just rip you a ball. Yeah. [00:46:34] Speaker C: Jacob's bolder. You just sit right in between. [00:46:37] Speaker B: You're a bold man. [00:46:38] Speaker C: But, yeah, I'll. I'll take Mark Andrews as my final pick. [00:46:42] Speaker B: All right, it's back to me then. [00:46:43] Speaker C: And I'll start him over. Travis, Kelsey, while we're at it. [00:46:45] Speaker B: Beast. All right. I don't have a quarterback and I do this legit every draft. I'd take a quarterback as the very last pick because to me it's the most irrelevant position in a four man draft. So I could take Jalen Hurts, Patti Mahomes. Last time I took Anthony Richardson. I could take Brock Purdy if I want, but I'm not doing any of those because I want. God, this is so stupid. I just like to have fun on this show. And so I'm praying to everything above that the Washington commanders take Jaden Daniels and Jaden Daniels is throwing to Terry McLaurin because I'm taking Jaden Daniels. Why not? Just because he has all the tools to be a fantasy relevant quarterback. He's a running back, he's phenomenal on the ground. He knows what throws to make. He can do it all on the football field. He torched Alabama when he was here. So I'm going to take Jaden Daniels because this is a fun time and we're having fun with friends. [00:47:45] Speaker D: Yep, having fun with friends. That's all it is. But, yeah, I mean, he did torch us so good. [00:47:50] Speaker B: Also, I'm reuniting with Brandon iuke, Arizona State. [00:47:54] Speaker C: Hey, they can reunite in Washington, too. [00:47:59] Speaker A: Jane Daniels throw into McLaurin and I you with Hitler. [00:48:03] Speaker C: That's with Eckler. [00:48:05] Speaker A: Don't get me started about Logan Thomas. [00:48:07] Speaker C: You said Eckler, and all I can think about is that meme with like the three military guys and the clown. [00:48:12] Speaker A: I thought you were gonna make a bald joke, but that works, too. [00:48:16] Speaker C: Nick Austin Eckler in there? RB two. [00:48:19] Speaker D: Well, I mean, he's just been sitting here and he was a big name in free aid or big name at the trade deadline. And one of Jake's favorite players, Derek Henry. [00:48:31] Speaker A: I love it. Zach just made. You just made up for the DK Metcalfect. No, the comparing Mike Evans to Mike Combo. [00:48:39] Speaker D: Oh, we're forgetting about that. They're consistent, dude. They're both consistent. I'm not comparing them talent wise, but they're just the same every year. [00:48:48] Speaker A: I like. [00:48:49] Speaker D: Yep, and their name is Mike. [00:48:50] Speaker A: I actually really like my last pick. [00:48:52] Speaker C: Jake. It's all you, man. Finish my last pick. [00:48:56] Speaker A: I'm not taking a joker, but I am going to stay in the AFC north and it's not going to be a Ravens player, so it really pains me, but he doesn't have Kenny Pickett throwing to him anymore. And I think he could actually be pretty fantasy relevant as long as he doesn't commit offensive passion interference, like, every single time they throw in the ball. Cause he likes to do that. So I'm gonna go with George Pickens as my last bench spot. [00:49:20] Speaker D: Wonder who's throwing it to him. [00:49:21] Speaker C: Wonder who's throwing not commit Justin Fields interference when Russell Wilson throws it three yards behind you or Justin Fields. [00:49:28] Speaker A: So hopefully, hopefully Fields will come in and then. [00:49:32] Speaker C: And then miss him. [00:49:32] Speaker A: And DJ Moore was a dog last year, so we'll hope that, you know, whatever, dude. I'm still taking George. [00:49:40] Speaker C: A lot of faith in this Steelers quarterback room. [00:49:43] Speaker A: I already said it. I'll take. I'll take George Pickens. Are we gonna go around? [00:49:47] Speaker D: Unless LBJ goes. [00:49:50] Speaker A: There. Teams? Yeah. [00:49:51] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Yeah. [00:49:53] Speaker A: Okay, so my team. Oh, I just typed Georgie Pickens. Georgie Pickens. Good. I don't like it. Curious Georgie. At the QB, I got Lamar. My running backs, one and two are Jamir Gibbs and Josh Jacobs. My receivers are Jay Jettis and DJ Moore, tight end spot. I got Cal Pitts, the two flexes. I got Stefan Diggs, the newest Houston Texan, and Travis Etienne, junior. And then my three bench guys are all receivers. I got the rookie room, Adonai AJ Brown, who got disrespected in this draft. [00:50:26] Speaker D: Yep. [00:50:27] Speaker A: And then Georgie Pickens is my last guy. [00:50:30] Speaker B: Hey. [00:50:32] Speaker C: All right, I got a. I guess I got. I got Josh Allen at quarterback. The running backs are Christian McCaffrey and Bruce hall. Got Jamar Chase and Marvin Harrison, junior. In my wide receivers, I've got Mark Andrews. And then the flex spots are occupied by Jonathan Taylor, Drake London, Aaron Jones, Chris Olave, and Travis Kelsey. [00:50:51] Speaker D: I want to save the best for last, so, yeah, that's why I'm gonna go last. [00:50:54] Speaker C: We're already done with the best. I just went over my team. [00:50:56] Speaker A: I have the two best teams. [00:50:58] Speaker D: All right, well, I guess I got second best and Jamie's last. So, Qb, I got cj Stroud, RB. One. Saquon, RB. Two. Isaiah Pacheco, wide receiver. One, Tyreek, wide receiver. Two. Ame Rosse Brown. My two flex spots are Brock Bowers and Mike Evans, tied in Sam Laporta. And then my three bench slots are Amari Cooper, DK Metcalf, and Derek Henry. [00:51:23] Speaker B: That is a team. [00:51:25] Speaker D: A good team. [00:51:26] Speaker B: You guys are trembling in your boots, soaked with sweat to hear my team, because my quarterback is Jayden Daniels, future Washington commander. Rbs are Bijon Robinson and Kyron Williams, two breakout dogs. My wide receivers are CD lamb and Garrett Wilson. Flexbots are Malik Nabors and Brandon Iuk. Tight end Trey McBride. And off the bench, Puka Nakua, Rashee Rice and Rashad White. That is a team if I've ever had one. And that's all we have for you guys this week. Make sure to go check out Mac Holland's TikToks about the rugs and carpets. Thank you all for tuning in to WVUA 90.7 FM, Tuscaloosa student section, fantasy sports. We'll see you all next Monday night. Peace.
